My priority in this election is to help insure everyone has a voice and feels like they are important! i believe it takes everyone to make a successful community.
The next few years will be hard for Spring Lake. There is a lot of things to do and decisions to make. It is not going to be easy. I hope I can help make that transition and still maintain our community values of service, compassion, unity, and caring in tack. For ultimately these are the traits that make Spring Lake - SPRING LEAKE!
I believe that housing issues will not be an issue for quite a while, since we are just starting the town process of establishing policies .
My policy for now is to make sure ALL have a voice and we work together to make decisions. I believe the main reason we incorporated was to protect our rights and make those decisions without some other town or entity doing it for us.
All of this will come as we get a council together and determine the needs of our community.
The first step is to make a vision. Then with the community input decide what will be important to all. I do not have an agenda I want to accomplish. I want to do what the people want. I do not have preconceived ideas of what this town should look like, except for keeping harmony , unity, and a feeling of COMMUNIY here.

The short term priorities will be to establish the town’s needs to operate and choose the appropriate contracts to meet those demands. In the long run, it will be important to review those contracts regularly to ensure they continue to meet our needs and are affordable to the community.
We currently have two different lower income housing options, one being the apartments over looking the lake and the other being the small trailer park on the highway. The rest of the community is spread across the designated area of the township either in the “fields” or the more compact area of the town. The homes and property sizes vary greatly from one to the next creating different degrees of affordability. Input from the community will be vital to addressing these issues going forward.
Part of the reason for establishing the town was to slow the growth and preserve the rural character. After we get the town set up for operation we can begin to look at options for managing growth by listening to members of the community and researching their concerns and suggestions.
Currently there are two lines that come into Payson from Salem via highway 198 as far as 800 S, and one that goes from Payson 800 S to Santaquin via I-15. Non of these options come through Spring Lake. At the very least we may want to consider requesting that the two routes on highway 198 continue from 800 S in Payson to Santaquin Main St.
A sustainable future will require communication between council members and residents. If elected I plan to continue to get to know the residents and ask them for their input.

1- establish Spring Lake town as close to the founding documents as possible
2- long term I believe we are a moral people and should keep government limited. Allow individuals to pursue happiness with the least amount of government intervention
I believe the best way to accomplish this is to streamline the ability to build housing by not burdening the builder with unnecessary regulations and fees
I believe that this should be done by the people of the community. Listening to the people and within the limits of the government do as they wish
I believe that we have good relations and can continue this. I believe that we can still get the services we now have by working with our neighbors. I think this will help to keep costs down and taxes low.
I believe that we should not look to the city to solve our problems. I believe we should be allowed to solve our own problems. The city should be as small and least intrusive as possible
