I recognize the pressing need for a more strategic and responsive approach to managing the rapid growth of Saratoga Springs. My highest priorities are:
Improving our road infrastructure including new and expanded expressways for West and East bound traffic connecting to I-15.
Advocating proactive infrastructure planning and investment to ensure utilities, roads, and public services adequately support our growing population. This includes prioritizing long-term maintenance and upgrades to prevent strain on the existing infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
Utah is the 9th least affordable state as measured by the median household income to the median home price. I would support:
Fast-tracking affordable projects: We need to prioritize and quickly approve developments that meet specific affordability standards.
Limit short-term rentals: By restricting properties used for services like Airbnb, we can free up more homes for long-term residents, either for rent or sale.
Allow more Interior Accessory Dwelling Units (IADUs): Unlike detached backyard guest cottages, IADUs are typically basement apartments with their own entrances. They serve the dual purpose of: increasing the stock of affordable rental housing and provide families with extra income to help cover high housing and mortgage costs.
To better integrate new developments with Saratoga Springs' natural environment, we need to:
Ensuring public access to adjacent lands: New developments next to public lands must incorporate trailhead parking, either using efficient hammerhead turnarounds or standard parking stalls, making it easier for everyone to enjoy these spaces.
Enhance community green spaces: Mandate an increase in the amount of parks and green areas built directly within new housing developments.
Acquiring additional land through conservation easements and direct purchases using parkland fees for each new unit constructed.
Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, Lehi and the UTA must work together to press the Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG) to update its 2050 transportation plan. Current population growth is significantly outstripping MAG's original projections, making an updated plan essential. I will work tirelessly for a unified voice to ensure the State Legislature directs critical highway funds to northern Utah County for vital transportation infrastructure.
Saratoga Springs is at a pivotal crossroads, serving as a vital pass-through for Eagle Mountain commuters and a convenient shopping hub for west Lehi residents. We must harness this unique position.
This approach means increased traffic capacity and becoming truly business-friendly. The benefits are clear: increased sales tax revenue to fund city services, more local jobs, and enhanced convenience for all residents. My plan involves:
Targeted Recruitment: Attracting retailers that fill market gaps and meet community needs.
Streamlined Processes: Ensuring easy, predictable permitting for businesses.
Regional Marketing: Actively promoting Saratoga Springs as the top shopping choice for our neighbors.

My first priority is listening to our residents. I want to know both the little issues (broken sidewalk, lack of code enforcement) and the big ones (less traffic, amenities) that would make life in Saratoga Springs better for them. I believe the city can tackle both.
To help with traffic:
- Building/zoning commercial—grocers, dining, etc.—on the south end to alleviate traffic on Redwood Road
- Make strategic investments in public transportation, connecting sidewalks, paths, etc. to give more options for getting around without a car
To improve safety:
- Update and publicize city emergency plans; improve emergency communications
- Require more connectivity and roads between neighborhoods, especially for new builds
I support multi-density zoning that includes big and smaller units as part of cohesive neighborhoods. Multi-density zoning allows for families to expand and downsize without leaving their community—and includes open and green spaces. Space for neighbors to gather and kids to play.
Example: Harvest Hills, with local shops at the entrance, condos, townhomes, *and* big and small single-family homes. Essentially, "higher" density alongside plenty of green space, parks and trails.
I believe in private property rights, a hallmark of our constitutional republic. With permission from near neighbors, owners should be able to add longer-term rental ADUs to help alleviate some of our housing crisis—without significant barriers from the city.
My plan includes building in strategic locations along main corridors to make sure residents can get what they need close to home. Residents throughout the city should be able to get to grocery stores, dining, and more without having to add to congestion on Redwood Road.
We also need protected wildlife corridors and flood zones to adequately prepare for disasters. I support city code that requires a certain percentage of new builds to be green space, and requires pocket parks near residents.
I'll work with property owners to ensure we preserve adequate open space within new planned developments. I also support preserving low-density/rural zoning in outlying areas of the city, larger lots for those who want to homestead or farm.
I'm already involved in local politic, and already started talking to local, county, and state officials about Saratoga Springs' needs, including roads and public transportation.
Once elected, I'll continue building up these partnerships, particularly with our city neighbors and at the county level. I'm not afraid to talk or collaborate with anyone to improve our quality of life.
I plan to be up at the Capitol during the legislative session, advocating in committee meetings on behalf of Saratoga Springs residents to drive investment on this side of Utah Valley.
I'm an experienced team player. I know to lead meetings, outline problems, needs. and potential solutions, and get people aligned so we can move forward.
To me, a sustainable future includes walkable neighborhoods, local stores and shops close to residents in all parts of the city. Paths that connect so kids can safely bike to school or the library. A vibrant community hub in our planned downtown/Main Street area.
I'll meet with folks and visit sites to ensure that residents' needs are considered during new development. I'll happily push a stroller throughout a site so that it remains accessible for young families, those in wheelchairs, and everyone else, too. I'll advocate for water-wise landscaping as well as planting trees that actually grow.
It's crucial we grow beyond a "bedroom community." I support local businesses, and I'll prioritize bringing economic opportunities to our city.
