I’m the kind of leader who listens first and acts with purpose. One of my top priorities is holding developers more accountable. New growth needs to pay its fair share toward roads, utilities, and recreation. That means updated impact fees, more responsible timelines, and making sure infrastructure improvements, especially roads, start before thousands of new cars are on our roads. I hear this concern from residents every day, and it's one of the main reasons I’m running. Long term, I’m focused on protecting our quality of life as the city grows with planning that reflects our values, keeps the public involved, and makes sure growth benefits the people who already live here.
Families, seniors, teachers, first responders, and young adults deserve a place in our community. I support a balanced mix of housing types, updated zoning, and partnerships that allow for attainable housing without compromising design standards or open space. We need more options like smaller, starter homes on modest-sized lots instead of just the biggest house possible on every parcel. That comes from working with developers early and often to align community values with what’s being built. Affordability isn't just about cost, it's about creating neighborhoods where people can start out, stay long term, and feel like they belong.
We need a master plan that clearly outlines where growth should happen and where it shouldn’t. That includes protecting open space, viewsheds, trail systems, and land that will be needed for future roads so our community stays connected. I believe in smart growth that reflects our values. That means stronger development agreements and better infrastructure planning. No more catering to rezoning requests that allow higher density in areas that were never meant for it. I support updating our city code to protect key areas from future high density state mandates. This is our chance to protect what we love while building a community that works for future generations. We can’t stop growth, but we can shape it with intention.
I bring a collaborative mindset and I believe that strong regional partnerships are essential. That means showing up, sharing ideas, and continuously building trust across city and county lines. Transportation, water, housing, and economic development don’t stop at the border, and neither should our efforts. I’ll advocate for our residents while working alongside others to find real solutions that serve the whole region. Our voice is stronger when cities and regional partners work together to fight for more state funding and outside funding.
A sustainable future is one where our kids can afford to live here, our roads support traffic needs, our water lasts, our open spaces stay open, and we have opportunities for youth of all ages and abilities. I will support policies that protect water resources, and invest in public infrastructure that meets the needs of a growing population. Sustainability also means emotional and economic well-being. That includes access to parks, community services, and local high paying jobs that allow families to thrive close to home.
I’m running to bring a fresh, inclusive voice that represents all of Eagle Mountain. I want to make sure our city’s growth works for the families who are already here and those still trying to build a life here.

Transportation is always a top priority. We need to be working on additional roads in and out of our City as well as taking care of the necessary corridors within Eagle Mountain. I would love to see us add 2 or 3 additional paths in and out of our City, it is a public safety concern as well as a concern with congestion and quality of life. It is also important to work with decision makers at the state level as well as neighboring cities to find proactive ways to solve the issues that are causing congestion on our roads. Some of these things will take time, but we need to be forward thinking in advocating for solutions-- and think out of the box when needed. My second priority is affordable housing, which you can read more about below.
The State has mandated that every City address affordable housing on a City level. I want to make sure that when Eagle Mountain meets that mandate, we do it in a way that makes sense for Eagle Mountain. Often "Affordable Housing" is actually just high density housing that is small, but still not affordable. We need product that is actually affordable and adds to our City in positive ways. I believe there is a project like this that is coming throught the pipeline and I have loved what I have heard about it so far. I am also supportive of Accessory Dwelling Units as long as traffic and parking issues are mitigated. We need to work with builders and developers in our community to find creative solutions that are good for Eagle Mountain.
Eagle Mountain and growth have been synonymous from the beginning and it will not be changing anytime soon. The key to preserving open space and rural character is to be sure that our Development Codes, Master Plan and other City Ordinances put safeguards in place that require developers to provide quality open space in their developments, preserve buffers and transitions between land uses, preserve our dark skies, and that the City does its part to care for and maintain City owned open spaces and parks as well. Developers and property owners have a right to develop their property, so it is vital that our codes and ordinances are written, and revisited often to protect the lifestyle we have come to love in Eagle Mountain.
One of the responsibilities of City Council members is to sit on boards and attend meetings that allow for collaboration with other Cities and decision making bodies. Organizations like MAG, UTA, Utah League of Cities and Towns, and others bring decision makers together to work out their various needs and differences and to find solutions to common problems. I will attend the meetings I am assigned to attend as well as any others where decisions are being made and discussed that will affect Eagle Mountain residents. In addition, I will not hesitate to reach out to other elected officials to work on out of the box solutions to common issues. Collaboration is something I am very good at. Proactive problem solving is the name of the game.
Sustainability for our City requires us to ensure that we have the infrastructure (roads, sewer, water, power) that we need far into the future rather than playing catch-up. We need to be proactively looking at our General Plan and Master Development Agreements to plan for the growth that is projected and work now to put in place the plans and actions that will secure resources now. This means building scalable projects that allow us to build what we can afford now, but add on easily and efficiently as we grow. This means identifying and purchasing corridors and land parcels that will be needed to meet our future needs before they are gone. This means leveraging other funding sources and getting our needs on MAG and State planning docs.
