I have 11 years of law enforcement experience as a Patrol officer and Investigator, 11 years as a Solicitors Inv. prosecuting violent crimes. I have been managing the coroners office doing everything from budgets to personnel issues to grants. I have a unique skill set that no other candidate has that will help in managing and correcting the Sheriffs office in this tough time.
1) Retention of Deputies- I will ask the County Administrator and Council to formulate incentives for longevity to retain the deputies we need.
2) Training of deputies- I will evaluate the training starting at new hire, specialty, continuing education, recertification and annual in-service to ensure we meet or exceed all state requirements.
3) Repair the rift between County Council and the Sheriff's Office. I am the only candidate that has 16 years of experience presenting a yearly budget and established a relationship with the current council.
1) Fill the 40 deputy positions that are open currently on patrol to ease stress on current deputies and begin community policing again with businesses and residents.
2) Policy and procedures need to be enforced equitably on all employees of the Sheriff's office. I am told infractions were dealt with differently on various employees. That leaves a feeling of distrust with the public and deputies alike.
3) A clear chain of command needs to followed. This establishes a clear line of communication and decision making.

Restore Public Trust and Transparency: Through rebuilding trust between the community and the Sheriff’s Office, by operating openly and honestly and meeting with the communities to find out what is broken
Address Jail Overcrowding and Deputy Wellbeing: Fix the dangerously overcrowded jail situation to protect inmates and Deputies, and address manpower shortages and mental health issues caused by poor working conditions
Rebuild Manpower, Morale, and Training: Improve public safety by increasing Deputy pay to attract and keep well qualified candidates, boosting morale, and enhancing training to better equip Deputies to serve
The priorities above are the essential first steps needed to completely overhaul the Sheriff’s Office, modernize its operations, and ensure real improvements for our Deputies and the public we serve.

I am the most educated, and trained for this position. I have served as an administrator in larger organizations. I received my BA University New York, Advance Degree Post University in Forensic Accounting I'm trained to cut waste, and fight fraud. I started out at the Sheriff's Office from 1996-2002 under Sheriff Coffey as Supervisor of Financial Crimes. From 2002-2015 I worked for the Department of State in Europe fighting Organized Crime and Drugs, I ended my career with the Secret Service Taskforce in 2015. I also hold a license/ certifications in Immigration, Medical Investigations, and Fraud Examination. I have all the knowledge and tools to give the residents of Spartanburg immediate results.
Drugs/ Fentanyl/ Meth: We have 193 children poisoned by Fentanyl most didn't know it was laced with it. Meth labs all over the county.
Gangs & Drugs in schools: Do you know most children from Jr High and up do not use the school bathrooms ALL Day, because of the violence and drugs, I have two teenagers and I've been to the meetings, its time for parents, and police to join hands.
Immigration: As a licensed Immigration specialist I have a broad understanding of immigration procedure and law. Internationals who follow the immigration law, welcome. Those who have made the decision to obstruct the law must return. I will coordinate with ICE , Deputy's, and Detention Center for immediate action.
I have already made an employee growth plan for the deputy's who desire promotion, and special training. No more good old boy system, or relatives and friends being promoted over hard working deputy's. As a forensic Accountant I have already started examination on last physical operating budget, I have found a great deal of waste that can be cut and reallocated to the deputy 1,and 2 salaries immediately.
