Personal Biography I have lived and worked in Olathe since 1984. Throughout that time I served as the Business Manager of the Harlan Parker Insurance Agency before fully retiring at the end of 2024.
Education 1980 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Degree
Community/Public Service Olathe Planning Commission 1999-2008 and 2022-present. Olathe Citizens Police Advisory Council 2008-2017. Olathe Police Foundation 2017-2024. Active member of Foundry Church for over 20 years. Member Board of Trustees of Manhattan (KS) Christian College since 2006.
1) Maintaining fiscal oversight that protects Olathe's strong bond rating, and supporting economic development policies that expand the tax base with a goal of reducing the property tax mil levy.

2) Strongly support our police and fire departments to keep our community safe.

3) Continue to enhance our transportation network for efficient traffic flow. In addition to current projects (I-35 at Santa Fe and 119th Street expansion), seek opportunities to raise the railroad tracks in the downtown area, to bridge 169 Highway at 167th Street and work to improve 169 Highway and 159th Street.
Over 40 years of business experience related to fiscal management and budgeting through my employment. Served in leadership roles within my church as an elder and treasurer. I also have nearly 20 years of service on the board of trustees of a Christian college, including seven years as board chairperson.

Specific to the city, my many years of volunteer service on the planning commission and with the police department provide knowledge of land use, infrastructure needs and an understanding of the role of our first responders.
The at-large position allows the opportunity to look at the 'big picture' of how to make the entire city an even better place to live and work since it represents the needs of a diverse populace.
