I'm running for Harrisville City Council because I care deeply about the future of our community. I believe our city needs leaders who will listen, plan ahead, and make decisions that benefit both current and future residents. My focus is on supporting smart growth, encouraging local businesses, keeping our neighborhoods safe and family-friendly, and ensuring we preserve the small-town charm that makes Harrisville special. I’m committed to open communication and working together to solve problems. I love this city and want to serve in a way that helps Harrisville thrive—not just today, but for generations to come.
The top issues facing our city are financial responsibility, representation, and vision. First, the debt from recent bonding has created long-term financial pressure that needs more transparency and accountability. Second, too many citizens feel unheard or ignored by their representatives—people deserve to have a voice in the decisions that affect their lives. Lastly, our city lacks a clear, shared vision for the future. Without direction, we risk making short-term decisions that don’t serve us well in the long run. Harrisville needs leadership that listens, plans, and communicates a vision we can all stand behind.
My experience as Vice Chair of the Weber County GOP has given me a front-row seat to how effective leadership works. I’ve worked closely with elected officials, learning how to listen, collaborate, and serve with integrity. My career in marketing has taught me how to clearly communicate vision and goals—especially to those who can’t attend every meeting. I believe that transparency and accessibility are essential. I also bring compassion to the table, understanding how decisions impact real people. I strive to balance principle with empathy, and I believe this mix of experience, communication, and care makes me well-prepared to serve on the Harrisville City Council.
Healthy growth in Harrisville means following our 2019 master plan, which prioritizes home ownership over excessive rentals. I believe we can create affordable housing opportunities while still honoring that plan and preserving the character of our neighborhoods. Growth also means bringing in the right kinds of businesses—those that contribute to our community and generate sales tax revenue. This helps relieve the burden on residents by shifting more of the financial load away from property taxes. Smart, balanced growth ensures that Harrisville remains a great place to live for both current and future generations.
I believe the best way to handle disagreements—whether with council members, citizens, or city employees—is by first listening to truly understand their perspective. It's important to find common ground where we can, and when we can't, to respectfully acknowledge differing views. We won’t always agree, but we can still have productive conversations grounded in mutual respect. Civility should always guide our actions, even in moments of conflict. I’m committed to keeping dialogue open, fair, and focused on what’s best for Harrisville—because healthy debate, handled well, leads to better decisions and stronger communities.

To help Harrisville and its residents continue to have pride in our community. Bring people together to build a better future for all.
Communication - The way the city has been engaging the community isn't working. Town halls and City Council meetings are poorly attended. We need to come up with better ways to engage and ask the city for its input on important issues. I will propose better ways to engage and listen.
Budget - We must do better. We have limited resources and we are acting like a big city. Let' work to find out where the excess is and trim where we can. Automate and reduce expenses where possible.
Vision - WE need to take a step back. Ask the city residents what the future of Harrisville looks like, and then come up with a plan that is presented and approved by the city. Once consensus is achieved, work together to get it going.
Finally, we need to get our community back together working hand in hand to enjoy the city we all love so much. Let' make a committee to restore Heritage Days to their former glory. I'll work with the mayor to help get these things put in place and move HVC forward
While I am a first-time candidate, I do have a long career in the Information Technology field, including AI. I bring expertise to the table and can help the city use cutting-edge tech to help the city move more quickly and improve efficiency.
There is something between high-density housing and open land. Both are valuable. But we need to take a step back and ask the city residents what the future looks like.
Disatreements always happen. And it's in the disagreement that consensus is made. When there is a dispute, I will take a step back. Listen and make sure I understand. Then ask for the same. When the time is right, ask to see if there is some kind of middle ground that can be taken. If not, then respect is in order.

I feel I have developed skills and experiences over my life time that would be beneficial to Harrisville as it faces challenges in developing its future identity. The lessons I have learned over the years would be of service in involving the community to develop a common vision. That common vision has been lost. Elected officials can not and should not try to implement their own vision without the support of those they represent. I feel I can help bring citizens together to identify the community needs and concerns. Participation by the citizens will help develop a common vision. This then allows the community to move forward and creates trust by having a common goal. This should be the bases of the actions of local government.
1. Lack of public trust in the elected officials-I would emphasize the need of public input before any decision is made. Most citizens have lost hope of their voices being heard. Decisions should not be made in a vacuum where public comment is only allowed after a decision is made. I would strive to have the public informed by seeking to provide better information and explore the options before any decision is made.
2. Lack of a common vision of our future-Harrisville faces challenges with its limited land area. Development is happening mostly on negotiated demand, setting aside the standards and concepts of what creates a sense of community and belonging. I would seek to help Harrisville reestablish a community vision that is identifiable.
3. Live within our means- The citizens trust that the elected representatives will use the citizen's money wisely in the operation of the needed services to the community. I would be mindful of that obligation in voting on the city budget.
I was a city planner for Ogden City for 40 years. During that time, I learned to see the potential that existed in a community where many had lost hope in its revitalization. I was involved in historic preservation, trail development, redevelopment and most importantly, community involvement in planning for the future. Without community involvement, which includes education and discussion in developing goals and visioning, a community does not feel invested and active in its future. Getting the community involved and informed leads to better government and I feel I can bring this insight to the Harrisville City government .
Healthy growth is a blend of manufacturing, commercial, residential, and open space that is wisely connected to the infrastructure needs of each use. A community is harmed when placement of a use does not have the needed infrastructure or which creates demands that are not logical extensions. There needs to be a variety of housing types and options within those housing types that allow the residents to stay within a community as their housing needs change over time. Healthy growth also needs to consider the context of its location and tie the new development with the existing context to become an extension of the community rather than islands. I would steer Harrisville to reevaluate present practices and plans.
We all have different opinions and approaches. The key is to determine what are the common things that we agree upon to become a base for discussion. I would take time to try to understand why the person feels the way they do. Maybe there is something that I may be overlooking or not understanding. The worst thing to do is to create a barrier by being defensive and not hearing the other person's views and opinions. I would then explain my thoughts and reasoning. It is great if there can be compromises to reach an equitable conclusion that is of benefit for all. Sometimes however what is best for the whole may not be a compromise. A decision must be made but the differing opinions were heard and understood.

I’m running for Harrisville City Council because I truly care about the future of our community. This is the place I call home, a place where families grow, neighbors look out for each other, and quality of life matters. As our city continues to grow and change, I want to make sure we do it in a thoughtful, balanced, and responsible way that reflects the values of the people who live here.
With over 27 years as a Realtor, and business owner, I’ve seen firsthand how decisions made at the local level impact families, home values, and the character of a community. I’ve worked with buyers, sellers, developers, and city officials throughout Weber County, and I understand the importance of communication, planning, and listening to all sides.
What are the top 3 issues facing our city right now, and what would you do about them?
1. Smart, Responsible Growth – Harrisville is growing, and we need to manage it wisely. I’ll support development that fits our community values, protects open space, and ensures infrastructure like roads and utilities are in place before building begins.
2. Budget & Spending – With rising costs and one of the higher property tax rates in the county, we must be careful stewards of public funds. I’ll support responsible budgeting, prioritize essential services, and look for ways to reduce waste and keep taxes in check.
3. Transparency & Communication – Residents want to know what’s going on. I’ll support open communication, regular updates, and more opportunities for public input so everyone feels informed, respected, and included in the decisions shaping our city.
As a Realtor, Principal Broker and business owner, I bring extensive experience in real estate, contracts, budgeting, and community development. I understand how local decisions impact families, neighborhoods, and property values. I’ve served on numerous local, state, and national committees, including as the 2025 Chair of the Utah Realtor Political Action Committee and a member of the National RPAC Participation Council. These roles have given me hands-on experience with policy, advocacy, and collaboration. I’m also deeply involved in our community and believe in service, transparency, and thoughtful leadership. I know how to listen, work with others, and get things done. I’m ready to put those skills to work for Harrisville.
Healthy growth means planning wisely for the future while preserving the charm and character that make Harrisville beautiful. It’s about balancing new development with open space, ensuring roads and infrastructure are ready before building, and protecting the quality of life for current and future residents.
To steer the city in this direction, I would focus on community-driven planning, making sure residents have a voice in growth decisions. I’d support responsible zoning, work closely with developers to align projects with city needs, and push for infrastructure improvements that keep pace with development. I believe in growth that supports families, respects property rights, and strengthens, not overwhelms our community.
Disagreements are a natural part of public service, and I believe they can be handled with respect, patience, and open communication. When I disagree with a constituent, I’ll take the time to listen, understand their perspective, and explain my reasoning clearly, even if we don’t see eye to eye.
With fellow council members or city employees, I’ll approach every discussion with professionalism and a team mindset. We may not always agree, but we all share the goal of doing what’s best for Harrisville. I believe in collaboration over conflict, and I’ll always strive to find common ground while maintaining integrity and respect for others.
