To me, the three biggest challenges facing Farr West are traffic safety, managing responsible growth, and planning infrastructure ahead of development. On traffic safety, I've already launched a new committee that's growing with initiatives to understand traffic patterns, work with the Sheriff's Office, and develop data-driven solutions for speeding and unsafe intersections. For growth, we need proactive planning that works with UDOT and neighboring cities on 2700 North corridor solutions, not band-aids. Finally, we must ensure infrastructure keeps pace with development through better coordination. My Planning Commission experience has shown me these interconnected issues require comprehensive solutions to preserve what makes Farr West special.
I want my three children to grow up in a city they'll be proud to call home and maybe raise their own families here someday. Growth is inevitable, so I hope to help drive it in a direction that works for Farr West. As a Planning Commission member, I've influenced these priorities, but from city council I can better drive solutions, work with key stakeholders, and vote for implementation. Farr West gave my family the community we dreamed of when we moved here in 2020. Now I want to ensure this growth maintains our character, improves safety, and plans infrastructure thoughtfully for our future.
Good people helping one another. Farr West is a developing rural community with special charm. While we'll definitely see growth, I hope new residents and businesses invest in Farr West long-term, where community comes together celebrating our roots and supporting each other in times of need. Growth should bring residents and businesses that sustain us through service, jobs, and revenue. I want people to find what they need locally without turning us into a busy city. We should remain a place where neighbors know each other, local businesses serve real community needs, and our rural-suburban character thrives alongside thoughtful development.
Good growth means planning infrastructure before development arrives and ensuring everything fits our General Plan and long-term goals. We can't treat growth passively—it's coming whether we lead it or not. I'd rather work proactively with landowners, developers, and regional partners to shape what's built here. This includes collaborating with UDOT and neighboring cities on 2700 North solutions, balancing property rights with community concerns, and ensuring new developments add value without compromising safety or neighborhood character. My Planning Commission experience has taught me to listen to all parties while making decisions aligned with our city's future.
I prefer Farr West avoid debt and encourage responsible revenue through growth with businesses and residents. With online sales tax, homes now contribute significantly to city revenue. Since government's primary goal is protecting citizens, my top priority is safety services and addressing safety issues with proven methods. The city has made great progress on parks, trails, and roads—we should maintain what we have, since routine maintenance costs a fraction of deferred maintenance. I support transparency in spending, leveraging grants and volunteers where possible, and planning ahead so we're not reacting to challenges after they become expensive problems.

Traffic safety, development and the preservation of open space, protecting housing options that are sensitive to our community
Serving on the Farr West City Council has been one of the most meaningful responsibilities I’ve had. I’m running for re-election because I believe in the power of local government to make a real difference—and I’m not done yet. Our city is growing, and with that growth comes both opportunities and challenges. From improving traffic safety near our schools to making sure development reflects our values as a community, I want to ensure we make smart, balanced decisions that protect what we love about Farr West while preparing for what’s ahead.
A thriving community is on where people feel connected, safe and proud to call home. It's a place where smart development respects open space, preserves our character and meets our future needs. A thriving community has engaged and connected residents who play an active role in shaping our city's future. And a thriving community takes pride in preserving the rural, small town feel while embracing progress and growth.
Good growth doesn’t happen by accident—it requires a clear, community-driven vision. That’s why updating Farr West’s General Plan is one of the most important steps we can take to guide our city’s future. A modern, actionable General Plan should serve as our roadmap—not just a document that sits on a shelf, but a working tool that reflects the values of our residents and sets clear direction for how and where we grow.
As a member of the Farr West City Council, I’ve been an active participant in the city budgeting process every year. I’ve worked closely to ensure that our budget reflects the needs and priorities of our city. One of the achievements I’m most proud of is the role I’ve played in securing grant funding to help offset local costs. Through persistence and collaboration, I’ve helped bring in over $750,000 in grants for city projects such as the Mountain View Park, Meadows Park, and the ADA Ramp at Smith Family Park. While I’ve been in office, Farr West has not had a tax increase. We’ve been able to maintain and improve city services while keeping property taxes steady—a reflection of our careful budgeting.
