Personal Biography
I have been married to my husband, Kevin who works for the school district for 21 years. Our oldest Rylan is taking college classes while working full time. Our son, Witt is 14 and a freshman at DHS. He’s also an entrepreneur who’s had his own company for over a year. Our youngest, Micah is 12 and is special needs. He’s a video game fanatic who brings joy to everyone around him.
I believe it’s vital that we prioritize upgrading our existing infrastructure. Our utilities, streets, and public services must be strong enough to support this growth before we take on additional projects.
At the same time, I believe a more conservative spending plan is needed. Families are already facing the pressures of high inflation, rising costs, and stretched household budgets. The city must be mindful of this reality and avoid placing unnecessary financial burdens on our citizens.
Finally, as Derby grows, so do the challenges that come with a larger community. That’s why I support expanding outreach programs that provide resources and guidance. With the right support, individuals can be better equipped to overcome challenges.
My background is real estate on a national level combined with having lived in larger cities gives me a broader perspective on issues It also provides an insight to the financial literacy needed to insure our community is not only successful but practical.
City council representatives should be the boots on the ground for its citizens. The responsibility of city council is to first and foremost care about the all of the residents not just a select few. It’s important that citizens be heard and given solutions for valid concerns when feasible to do so.
