Personal Biography Daisy “KD” Karimi, a lifelong District 3 resident, is a Washburn graduate, small business owner, and community leader. She co-founded the Teen MOSAIC program, serves on the boards of Forge Young Talent and ArtConnect, and supports senior outreach. Daisy is running for Topeka City Council to bring a fresh perspective rooted in service to District 3.
The three critical initiatives for District 3 are: Neighborhood Revitalization & Infrastructure—repairing sidewalks, improving drainage, addressing blight, and ensuring safe, reliable services in every neighborhood. Economic Opportunity & Small Business Growth—supporting local businesses and nonprofits, expanding East Side investment, and streamlining city programs to create jobs and keep dollars local. Youth Investment & Support for Elders—expanding after-school programs, mentorship, and recreation while ensuring seniors have safe housing, food access, and resources. Together, these priorities will build a stronger, more connected District 3.
I bring lived experience, professional expertise, and proven community leadership to serve District 3. As a small business owner and project manager, I know how to balance budgets, manage resources, and deliver results. My work with Teen MOSAIC, Forge Young Talent, ArtConnect, and senior outreach, along with coalition-building at the local and state level, has prepared me to unite people and drive action. Raised in District 3, I understand our challenges firsthand and will bring solutions rooted in service.
The City Council is important because it brings people together to solve local challenges. This office is where neighbors, businesses, and community groups connect with city leadership to shape solutions that work. For District 3, it means building coalitions to address infrastructure needs, support small businesses, and invest in families—ensuring our community moves forward together.
