I am running for Mayor because I would like to serve the residents of Harrisville. I believe with my business back ground of over 40 years and service on the planning commission I have many skills that I can contribute to the city.
Lack of communication and listening: when I have attended city council meetings specifically public hearings I have been surprised with the lack of listening. It is as if the public is speaking to a wall. They seem to have their minds made up before they get a response and they are conducting the public hearing to satisfy a requirement.
Financial responsibility: I will control spending and work to get the most of our financial dollars.
Growth: I believe we need to provide a place for more retail business in our city. Harrisville needs these types of business to provide revenue for our city. If we do not have retail business in our city the majority of the financial burden will be placed on the property owners.
We also need to look at our future land use map and get feedback from the residents on how they would like to see the city grow.
I have been in business management for more than 40 years. I have managed budgets and people to operate these businesses and make them profitable. I served on the planning commission for 19 years. I know the importance of resident feed back and involvement.
I believe we need growth of all types. I think to much of one specific area is not good. We need a balance. Harrisville does not have that much open area left and we do not need to fill it up with High density housing.
I will listen and try to compromise. Everyone should be untitled to their opinion. I will try and follow the majority and communicate why decisions are made. I realize we may not make all people happy but I will do my best.

I’m running for re-election as mayor because I care deeply about Harrisville. This is my home, where I’ve raised my family and served in many roles—from volunteering at schools to serving on the city council and now two terms as mayor. I’ve worked hard to lead with transparency and heart, supporting smart growth, infrastructure, and preserving our city’s unique character. We’ve made real progress, but there’s more to do. I want to keep that momentum going, continue serving our residents, and build on the strong foundation we’ve created—together.
Serving as Harrisville’s mayor has been a fulfilling experience. Over two terms, we’ve built a solid foundation—full staffing, financial stability, and meaningful progress. I’m running for re-election to keep that momentum going. I believe in growth that enhances infrastructure and protects our city’s character while meeting state housing requirements. We must expand our commercial tax base smartly and sustainably, not just through outdated retail. With strong leadership, thoughtful planning, and deep commitment to service, I’ll continue working to make Harrisville a safe, welcoming, and well-managed city for all.
With nine years on the city council and two terms as mayor, I bring proven leadership and a deep commitment to Harrisville. My career at the U.S. Postal Service, including leadership roles in state and regional unions, taught me how to lead with integrity and serve with heart. I’ve helped fully staff the city, strengthen finances, and expand regional partnerships. Locally, I revived the senior program, reinstated the Youth City Council, and continue supporting community programs. I know Harrisville, and I’m ready to keep moving it forward—with vision, care, and experience.
Healthy growth in Harrisville means more than just expanding. It’s about building a balanced future that protects our city’s identity, meets state housing requirements, and enhances our quality of life. As mayor, I support development that aligns with our zoning policies and values, while keeping us in compliance with the state’s Moderate Income Housing strategies. Growth must bring improvements—strong infrastructure, public safety, and city services. With a skilled staff and thoughtful planning, I will continue to lead Harrisville forward with care, vision, and community at the center.
My experience as a rural letter carrier and in city service has taught me that I won’t always please everyone. Disagreements are part of leadership, but they can be handled with respect and a willingness to listen. Serving on boards and at public hearings, I’ve learned that people want to be heard. I always try to understand concerns and seek resolution when possible. Decisions are easy when everyone agrees, harder when there are pros and cons, and most difficult when there’s opposition—but still a need to do what’s right. I apply these principles in every part of my role as mayor.
