Slogan Fresh Voices for Change: Putting Families First, Building Watchung’s Future.
Watchung faces challenges around pedestrian safety, fiscal responsibility, and ensuring strong public services while keeping taxes under control. As a former Councilmember, I know how to balance these needs. I will advocate for safer streets with sidewalks and improvements to the Watchung Circle, strengthen transparency in budgeting, and continue supporting our first responders and community programs. By prioritizing both fiscal responsibility and quality-of-life investments, we can make Watchung safer, more connected, and more welcoming for families of all ages.
I believe our local government and law enforcement should focus on keeping Watchung safe for everyone who lives here. Public safety depends on trust between residents and local authorities, and that trust is undermined when local resources are used to enforce federal immigration policy. Our police, fire, and rescue services should remain focused on protecting and serving our community, not on federal immigration enforcement.
Quality of life in Watchung depends on safe neighborhoods, fiscal responsibility, vibrant public spaces, and strong recreational programs and opportunities for families. I will continue to support investments in sidewalks, parks, and recreation programs that bring people together, ensure public safety remains strong, and see through the completion of a new library that reflects our community’s needs. At the same time, I’ll make sure tax dollars are spent responsibly and transparently, so residents can take pride in both the results and the process.

Slogan Fresh Voices for Change
Watchung faces three major challenges: infrastructure resilience, public safety, and government transparency. Recent flooding highlights the need for stronger stormwater management and investment in resilient infrastructure. As an emergency physician, I know how essential it is to ensure our first responders have the tools and training they need, while also making our streets safer for pedestrians and families. Finally, residents deserve a more transparent, accountable government that communicates clearly and uses taxpayer dollars responsibly.
I believe local government should focus on protecting and serving residents, not acting as an extension of federal immigration enforcement. Cooperation between municipal authorities and ICE undermines trust, discourages immigrant families from seeking help, and makes communities less safe. I support policies that separate local policing from immigration enforcement, ensuring all residents—regardless of status—feel secure accessing services, reporting crimes, and engaging in civic life.
Watchung’s quality of life depends on safe neighborhoods, strong infrastructure, and trust in local government. Public safety is essential, and I will ensure our first responders have the resources to protect residents while making our streets safer for pedestrians and families. I will prioritize fiscal responsibility to make sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. Finally, I will work to improve transparency and accountability so residents feel connected to and confident in their local government.
