I would like to give back to the teachers, students and community. The community has been good to me and my family and I’m looking forward to giving back.
One of my main concerns for the upcoming year is addressing learning gaps , adapting to technological growth and the use of AI and making sure that everyone has the same access to quality education.

Each part makes the other stronger. If one part is lacking it can have ripple effects.

I was born and raised in Corinth and I know the community.I served on the CHS Board of Education from 2000 to 2005. I am an active volunteer in our elementary school classrooms and I serve on several school committees, including CARE as well as sports revitalization committee. I am retired now, but my professional background included, but was not limited to budgets, contracts, human resources, and buildings and facilities operations. I am currently the Town of Corinth Youth Commission Director, which puts me front and center with children between the ages of four and 18 and their families. I have positioned myself to be involved in the community.
My decision to be on the board was motivated by the fact that I have three grandchildren in the school district. They are in third grade, sixth grade and 10th grade giving me exposure to all three of the buildings. I served on the school board when my own children were in the district and I 100% understand the commitment that needs to be made. While some people may think that it’s only a monthly meeting, I have personally experienced the additional work that goes with serving on the school board.
My number one concern is that our district is providing all of our students the education they deserve in a safe environment.

The five constituencies are entwined. If we do not value or recognize the importance each plays, I don’t believe that we can be a successful. I believe that students are our priority, but firmly support that we are remiss not to give our teachers the training, time and tools to be able to address the needs of our students. We need to listen to and support our educators. And at the same time, the input from the community and the parents is critical. Closing the door on any of these groups is a mistake.
The dynamics in our school system has changed. I am committed to understanding what we can and cannot do as directed by the New York State Department of Education. I will be transparent when appropriate, and I will give attention to the voices that need to be heard.
