While I grew up locally, I have spent time living and working at a variety of places. I graduated from Queensbury High School, and went on to graduate from Northeastern University. I worked as a breaking news reporter for the Boston Globe during my time in school and shortly afterward. I then attended Columbia University where I earned my Masters Degree. After graduating from Columbia, I started working at a non-profit organization in Boston focused on young adults with type 1 diabetes (I am a type 1 diabetic since 18 months.) Eventually, my husband and I decided to move closer to home, and that is when we moved back to the area and I started at Edward Jones. I became a CERTIFIED
FINANCIAL PLANNERĀ® practitioner in 2023.
I have two sons who are ages 2 and 4. They are my everything and what I am most passionate about, and they will be attending public school for the next several years. I also feel strongly about the importance of public school to our entire community. There is a lot of uncertainty in our world right now, and being a part of the school board and helping the district navigate this seemed to me like the best way I could make an impact for not only my kids, but our entire community. In terms of the time commitment, I run my business and make my own schedule, and as a result I am very intentional with my time and making room for my priorities.
Again, there is a lot of uncertainty in our world right now, especially with the shrinking of the Department of Education. It is unclear what, if any impact, these changes will have on our school district, but I think it is extremely important to make sure that all students, including those with special needs, are still getting the full extent of resources and support they require.

All of the aforementioned individuals are integral parts of the school community, and one doesn't work without the other. I think its incredibly important to weigh the opinions of all of them when making policy decisions.
I have never been a member of a school board and this would be a completely new experience for me. I am not coming in with any preconceived notions of what I think needs to be done. Instead, my plan would be to address issues as they arise by talking to all of the individuals directly involved, and then making an informed decision after those discussions that seems the most appropriate and fair for all involved.
Board Certified Pediatrician, Hudson Falls CSD School Physician for 10 yrs., School Physician SGFCSD for three years. Former President Glens Falls Hospital Medical Staff and Hospital Board member. Commander of 364th General Army Hospital. Owner of Adirondack Nautilus Health Club. Staff Physician-Wilton Developmental Center for mentally handicapped.
I have been a Board Certified Pediatrician and School Physician for thirteen years in two school systems including SGFCSD. There, I was always primarily concerned with the health, welfare and safety of all the students These concerns have been amplified since COVID. I am currently semi-retired which means that I am able to devote the time required. This is my second term,
I also bring with me 26 years experience working with mentally handicapped
The SGFCSD is still recovering from the effects of COVID on all involved - Students, Parents, Teachers, Administration and Community. Home schooling has taken on a new meaning. Absenteeism, decreasing enrollment and transportation are becoming crucial.

This overlooks another major player - the State Education Department that provides a substantial percentage of the Budget and dictates much of the policies..
The voters of the District should be rightfully proud of the collective accomplishment uniquely reflected in the Marathon Dance. The current Board is experienced and efficient and the Administration is pro-active.
