I bring a well-rounded background in nonprofit leadership, budget planning, communications, and community service—along with a genuine desire to make CPRD parks and programs more accessible and well-maintained.
I serve on the CPRD Budget Committee and have completed the SDAO Board Leadership Academy, giving me a solid foundation in public budgeting and governance. I’ve worked in financial operations for both small businesses and global companies—managing purchasing, sales, marketing and communication, as well as content creation. I'm thankful for these experiences, as I have developed invaluable transferable skills.
I’ve led community service and disaster relief efforts overseas - teaching me how to listen and meet community needs.
I believe any new revenue ideas should be approached carefully, with community input and a focus on maintaining access for all. We should avoid paywalls that limit participation—but we can be creative and fair in looking for ways to make our offerings both sustainable and strong.
One example is the preschool program. Currently at risk of being cut, with mindful planning and community support, I believe CPRD can work toward a sustainable preschool program that can generate revenue.
The most pressing need, in my view, is ensuring that CPRD takes care of what we already have before expanding. Play structures that haven't been replaced or repaired in years, missing equipment, and concerns about safety issues related to this.
Which leads me to the second issue: communication. When a parent sees a missing slide, they don't know why it's missing or when it will be replaced. If there's a land use notice, tax lot adjustment, or confusion over fees and programs, the public doesn't know what's happening. The district expects the public to seek out answers, but should actively educate and communicate with the public.
Lastly, we have kids fighting for field space. We need creative solutions to serve our kid's teams best.

As a husband, father, business owner and outdoor enthusiast, I understand firsthand the vital role parks and recreation spaces play in our community. Having coached youth sports for over 20 years at recreational, club and high school levels, I've seen how these spaces shape character, promote health, and bring people together. As a retired finance executive, I will work to ensure fiscal responsibility in our stewardship of CPRD resources. Our parks, recreation centers and open spaces belong to all of us. I will work to preserve them for future generations through fiscal responsibility, strategic planning and community-driven decision-making.
There are definitely opportunities for our facilities to provide supplemental revenue.
One of the more ambitious requested projects is to build a Clubhouse at our municipal golf course. This is a project that would benefit the entire community through a variety of special event revenue streams. As a board member, my goal would be to ensure that the clubhouse operates profitably, freeing budget for other district facilities.
I also believe that moving forward with the proposed renovation of Renne Field will lead to revenue opportunities. Installing turf and lights would make the fields accessible year-round enabling CPRD to expand athletic programs and host additional tournaments contributing revenue to CPRD and our local businesses.
As a resident of Dundee I am passionate about the Sander Park project. We need representation on CPRD to drive the project through completion. We need to break ground and leverage the grant funding that has been awarded to the project. I want the park to be a focal point for residents and visitors and a true reflection of our heritage.
Additionally many of our parks are in need of repairs due to years of deferred maintenance. This cannot continue, maintenance and capital improvements need to be a budget priority. It will increase the life of equipment and fields while improving safety.
