They are governed by a board of directors, which is responsible for management and financial accountability. Special districts are empowered to levy any necessary taxes and fees to fulfill their mandate. Public confidence in operation of Boardman Fire Rescue District, including cooperation between other emergency services in the area.
The board provides guidance to the chief; approves strategic goals, budgets, and policies within applicable laws. The Fire Chief is responsible for the day to day operations and assignment of personnel.
