North Lincoln Health District Director Position 4

Special districts in Oregon are formed to provide specific local government needs. They are created by a vote of the people in the local area being served. Examples include people’s utility districts, library districts, water districts, fire protection districts, and more. They are governed by a board of directors, which is responsible for management and financial accountability. Special districts are empowered to levy any necessary taxes and fees to fulfill their mandate. Board members are not paid but may receive a per diem reimbursement.Health districts seek to provide a range of physical and mental health services to communities, sometimes in association with a hospital. The board is responsible for budgeting and personnel administration.Qualifications: Candidate must be a registered voter in the district. Employees of the district are not eligible. Your Experience/Qualifications Professional Physical Therapist for 45 years with a Masters degree in Healthcare Administration. Suzanne specialized in pediatric neurodevelopmental treatment. She served as t he Pediatric Consultant to the Arizona Department of Children’s Health Services, was an Associate Professor at Arizona State University for special Education, as well as at Georgetown UIniversity Child Developmentment Center.Her desire to help the less fortunate among us is the guiding principal of her professional life.

I have worked in rehab facilities and educational settings as a SLP; experienced in Budget analysis and long range planning from City Council Budgeting, Labor Relations Consultant and Private Practice business experiences.
The Hospital District is faced with providing medical resources and services to community members in times of uncertain funding sources. Maintaining staff that have the skills to work cooperatively with other providing agencies and creating community education and awareness for public support, will be crucial to success for ongoing programs.
The publicized Board meetings are always open for the public to attend; they also post minutes on their website.t They welcome any concerns and questions from the community. Staff are available for presentations to various community groups in order to update developments and situations that impact the Hospital District. The Board does a good job seeking public input.
