County Hood River
I am an Odell native, and proud daughter of Mexican immigrants. I attended Mid Valley Elementary, Wy'East Middle School, and graduated from HRV in 2013. After I graduated, I went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree from Boise State University and a Master's degree from Northeastern University. As a college student I was heavily involved with student organizations, and in my current employment, I support family involvement in early education.
I believe our district has an obligation to provide high quality education for all children within our county. This can mean adhering to federal and state education policies, and also advocating to change these if they are not meeting the needs of our community.
Our district is facing budget cuts, and I believe advocacy at the local, state, and federal level to secure continued funding for our school district is necessary. High quality education should always be a top priority for our lawmakers.
