Your Experience/Qualifications
I have lived in Hood River for nearly 15 years and have two children at Westside Elementary. I have worked in executive search for 17 years, 9 of which as owner of a local firm. I support improved academic rigor, improved technical training programs (CTE), and limiting screens/devices in schools. Kids need to graduate with critical thinking skills and the context to understand where they fit in the world.

I have lived in Hood River for nearly 15 years and have two children at Westside Elementary. I have worked in executive search for 17 years, 9 of which as owner of a local firm, which has exposed me to wide variety of organizational problems and leadership styles. My father was an educational statistician, exposing me from a young age to topics of educational policy and data interpretation.
In order to obtain Federal and/or State funding the district must comply with said policies.
In the short term it is navigating the budget shortfall with the least amount of disruption to students and teachers. In the long run I'd like to see the district improve its academic rigor, its career/technical programs, its access to art/music which ties into high academic achievement in math/STEM, and see students graduate with strong critical thinking skills rooted in a classic liberal arts education.
