I have served on the Linn-Benton-Lincoln Educational Service Board for one year. I have learned a tremendous amount about the role the ESD plays in Oregon's overall education system and would like to continue my efforts on behalf of all students particularly in the areas of early childhood and special education.

I also currently serve as an Albany City Councilor. In both of these positions I strive to work collaboratively with my colleagues while never forgetting to put students at the center of decision making.
Early Childhood special intervention. Special education in general.

Working to meet the needs of our 12 component Kindergarten through 12th grade Districts.
Unlike our K-12 Districts, ESDs have the ability to be "entrepreneurial" in nature by selling specific services to Districts throughout Oregon and the NW region. This ability could provide even greater dividends to the entire organization.

In a time of cost-cutting budgets, it will be important the Board remain fixed on providing the most needed services to our component school districts.
