Your Experience/Qualifications
26yrs as small business owner, 12 yrs as Mayor of City of Hermiston, 8 yrs on the Hermiston School Board of Directors, 6 yrs on the League of Oregon Cities Board of Directors
County
Umatilla
I have served in a public capacity for 20yrs as a Mayor and School Board member. With the intent of making my community a better place to live. I understand public meeting and ethics laws. I have multiple contacts across the county and state through my previous service. I'm a small business owner and understand how important a high functioning organization is to our region, especially for economic development.
1. Balanced budget- I'm a part of the budget committee.
2. Strategic Plan- Work with the Director and Board to set forth goals/priorities for the future.
3. Evaluate personal/staffing- do we have the right people in the right places.
4. Work with the Director to get a better functioning web site, so the public can be better informed on the roles/priorities/budget and business of the Port.
Prioritize based on the best economic value and best high paying jobs to the region. One primary user missing from your example is Agricultural. We need to work with our local agricultural community to make sure the Ports resources are maximized to the benefit of all its users.
