As a first-generation college graduate, MHCC alum, and former Student Body President and Director of Diversity, I bring both lived experience and leadership rooted in the college. I’ve worked at the local, state, and national levels to advance policies around education, workforce development, and equity. I currently serve as the Executive Director for a local nonprofit and have managed budgets, built coalitions, and helped pass hundreds of laws. I know how to listen, collaborate, and get things done. That’s what I bring to the MHCC Board.
My top priorities if elected to the Mt. Hood Community College Board are focused on student success, fiscal responsibility, and workforce readiness. I’ll work to make MHCC more affordable and accessible by supporting critical programs, expanding student support services, and ensuring access to housing, childcare, and mental health resources that help students stay on track.
I’ll also prioritize career and technical education by supporting apprenticeship programs, workforce partnerships, and industry-aligned training that grow into good-paying, stable jobs. MHCC should be a place of opportunity and skill-building, where all feel supported and valued.
The most important functions of the MHCC are providing affordable, high-quality education, preparing students for good-paying jobs, and being a strong community partner. In places like Gresham and Damascus, MHCC must be accessible, responsive to workforce needs, and committed to supporting student success through training, support services, and budgeting that reflects community priorities.
