Examples include people’s utility districts, library districts, water districts, fire protection districts, and more. They are governed by a board of directors, which is responsible for management and financial accountability. Special districts are empowered to levy any necessary taxes and fees to fulfill their mandate. Board members are not paid but may receive a per diem reimbursement.Park and recreation districts in Oregon are responsible for providing a range of recreation services including parks, open spaces, pools, and more. Currently completing a term as an appointed Board Director, the term ends 6/30/2025. I wish to continue to serve as an incumbent to support the seniors, like me, that count on the parks, playgrounds, paths, programs and pools, to protect our physical and mental health. I wish to continue to help all participants access our services. I have served for 18 months and have learned alot that will help the Board continue to provide excellent Park and Recreation programs.

I have served on several Boards, Commissions and ad hoc committees, that have allowed me to gather the skills to participate on this 5-person Board of Directors. I have served on the statewide organizations within my Union that has taught me the skills of being on Boards.
We are in the process of working with developers in our community to use System Development Revenue to help build new parks, update older facilities and such. We are working with our Foundation to obtain grants and Legacy grants.
Maintaining current service levels and adding age friendly disciplines for seniors. We are currently working thru the 20-year Comp Plan to ensure we are providing all the services we can to our populations of users.

Willamalane Park and Recreation District Board of Directors
County
Lane
Being an active Board Member for Willamalane Park and Recreation District and a working parent have provided skills and experience in listening, analyzing, prioritizing and caring that are critical to this position. Willamalane helps parents and children grow through new experiences in healthy environments. I will continue to support the growth of our community members in this position with Willamalane.
This is a timely question. Over the last year, we have completed an assessment of our activities, classes and events to maximize what our community wants. We are targeting more efficient use of space, notably at the Bob Keefer Center, and expect revenue to grow by 4% annually in our Recreation Programs. The community has already asked us to invest in natural spaces and aquatics programs and facilities. Now, we are re-evaluating our parks and buildings. Throughout this year we will talk more with our community (through surveys, postcards and events; please share your thoughts!) to identify the best targets for increased revenue.
Being present for working parents is a pressing need for the district to attend to. Willamalane is a cornerstone of our community that supports our kids in sports, before- and after-school activities, swimming lessons and fun. Through care and classes, outings and events, I will help Willamalane watch out for our kids and families. Willamalane makes it easier for all of us to be good, active role models in our community, and I will continue and strengthen that for all of us.
