Your Experience/Qualifications
I have served the people of Lane County for nearly 50 years starting with 20 years as Lane County commissioner
I want to maintain excellence at LCC in a changing environment. Our biggest challenge will be to balance the budget while holding down tuition cost, and maintaining excellent faculty.
I will work to forge unity among LCC board members.
I have served on many boards and commissions. I have learned to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am a creative problem solver. DLC board is fractured and divided I will work to bring the board together.
We need both and we do not have to sacrifice either. One approach that might be useful is to form consortiums between other community colleges in order to offer high-quality affordable classes that are currently out of reach.
