I will be bringing back the ability to have open communications with local officials, community leaders and the residents of Athens County. Communication is needed so that everyone can work together for the betterment of the county and its citizens.

I will also make it a priority that all property owners in Athens County know about the Tax Escrow Program. The program sets up a payment plan for residents in order to help them budget for their property tax obligations in monthly payments.
I have over twenty years of experience in budget planning, record keeping, financial reporting, analyzing cost control, and auditing practices. Achievements include saving Athens County public funds by coming under budget for each year I worked for the county.

I am currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Accounting program at Maryville University with a completion date of August 2025. I have also met all qualifications set by the state of Ohio to sit for the CPA exam.
Not necessarily a procedure but the main thing I will be changing is the amount of time that the “Treasurer” spends in the office. The main complaint I hear about the current Treasurer is the lack of time spent in the office. The Treasurer is an elected official who works for the citizens of Athens County and needs to be available to not only the citizens but the local officials and community leaders. I feel the need to promote trust, transparency and accountability to the Treasurer’s Office.

There are two top priorities that I would bring to the position. The first is the safety and security of your tax dollars. As Treasurer, I would work to ensure fair, efficient, and effective collections while keeping a close eye on the treasury. My track record emphatically shows my team's success on these fronts in Nelsonville. Second, I would work to ensure a strong future for the County Land Bank, a vitally important tool in the fight to maintain affordable housing in Athens County.
spent 2 of my 4 years on the City Council on the Finance Committee, where we steered City Finances from disaster to stable. As City Auditor, I have helped manage a turnaround in the treasury, while taking on corruption and managing the budget, taxation, utility billing, and staff. On my first day, we had just a few thousand dollars in the General Fund. Today's balance hovers around one million dollars due to our strong leadership. This wealth of experience will serve Athens County well.
This is a great question. Frankly, there is a difference in style, approach, and vision that I would bring the office more generally. I would like to see growth in the offices efficiencies and effectiveness. I want to empower the staff and would like to see them grow, too. An operation is only as good as its staff and voters can trust that I will be willing to invest in the people of the Treasurer's office so that we all can serve the community, together.
