Spring Valley City Mayor

The role of city mayor can vary from city to city. However, the mayor is usually the head of the city and may represent the city in front of other government bodies. A mayor also usually has a role in proposing a city budget that is approved by the city council. The budget influences the services the city provides to its residents. Mayors sometimes are voting members of city council, and in some cities the mayor is in charge of city council meetings.

I am running for mayor because I believe in the potential of Spring Valley and I want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Spring Valley is a place of incredible potential, however we need a vision and more planning for the future. I am committed to working tirelessly to enhance our community and keep it moving forward. My goal is to make our city a better place for all residents, and I am committed to listening to and working with the community to achieve this vision.
I only have one priority, people. As we tackle a lot of tough challenges in the next 5-10 years, the residents of Spring Valley will need strong leadership to see it through. My goals are to strengthening local businesses, promote sustainable development, make much needed infrastructure improvements, and explore affordable housing options. If these issues are not dealt with, it will be increasing difficult for residents to live in Spring Valley.
I believe we need to start with better communication. I would like to see frequent town halls take place as well as hold open office hours. This would allow the community to speak with local officials directly with any concerns they might have. When we prioritize openness, we build trust within the community, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interest of the public. These solutions are only a start, and will hold us accountable, reducing the risk of corruption and inefficiency.
Again, holding town halls and open office hours allows for clear communication and allows residents to stay informed about policies, projects, and challenges, fostering a sense of involvement and ownership. By actively engaging with them and being upfront about government actions, we can create a stronger community. Everyone’s voice needs to be heard!
I feel good about our current public safety. We have good law enforcement, fire and EMT staff. However, making sure they have everything they need to continue to serve Spring Valley is vitally important. I would like to meet regularly with them to ensure their needs are met. And to anticipate any challenges that could impede their success.
