I am the current District A City Council Member. I have served actively in an executive role to ensure our Home Rule Charter is followed in my executive decisions ethically.
As the sitting City Council Member, I have brought many new businesses and high quality concepts to Missouri City and in District A. My first year in office, I worked to open dozens of businesses, I tour and meet with business owners to ensure they are well supported and promoted. As the 2021 HAR.com endorsee, I work directly with realtors to seek out new opportunities they can bring to our City.
I have done this by working with my colleagues to hire an experienced new City Manager that understands the goals of Council. I worked with the new City Manager to create a new department called Neighborhood Services, to separate business inquires from code enforcement. This has helped our staff work more efficiently in their expert areas. I'll continue to be innovative in my service for the City.
1. Completing our 2024 Comprehensive Plan-we are currently working on this and involving the community. 2. Reviewing our zoning on undeveloped land-I've worked with our staff to identify those properties and ensure we are seeking development that is complimentary to our City. 3. Continue to uplift District A with visible presence, upcoming growth, and community engagement.
This is extremely important. When Hurricane Beryl hit our City hard, we sprung into action with cooling centers, water/ice/food distributions, working with the County for debris clean up and adding pressure & calling for power restoration to CenterPoint. We will be revising our emergency management plan, create better systems to communicate with residents in the event of a power outage again.
