I think that we are in a housing crisis that is impacting every community across Maine. The lack of affordable housing options, coupled with the actual lack of houses/homes is only growing stronger. Whether looking to buy or to rent Mainers in every district are struggling.
The housing crisis is further impacted by a real challenge across the state to attract and retain a younger workforce. Particularly we need to increase pay for Nurses and educators so they can afford to live here.
I also think that the disappearance of so many Nursing Homes throughout the state deserves much more attention and resolution. Elderly Mainers want to age near their friends and families, either in or near their home communities. We need real solutions.
I think that so many of my constituents are already engaged whether at the municipal, the state or the National level. I think that being sure to share opportunities across social media platforms is crucial as we approach the general election. It is very important to encourage younger constituents to register to vote, and important across the district to work hard to "get out the vote"!
Personally I have been participating in coffee with constituents with Senator Nicole Grohoski. I have also been attending many events and look forward to expanding my reach as we near the summer season.
Affordable housing is a situation near and dear to my heart as my boys and I are yet again moving. I am very interested in learning more about the programs already in place to support home owners and renters, and I look forward to working on/supporting future policy so that Mainers can buy or rent affordable.
With my freshman session behind me I am eager to return to the state house and work to support constituents within District 15. I am very concerned about issues related to housing, childcare, workforce, strengthening and supporting our fisheries, and bodily autonomy for all Mainers.
As a single mother I know first hand how difficult it is to stretch resources; whether that be for household bills, childcare, housing or employment. I want to work hard for all Mainers so we can all move forward.

As a representative candidate I am focused on the greatest challenges facing my district 15 which is the lack of solid waste disposal options, the lack of state support to re-open area nursing homes and the low reimbursement rate to in-home nursing care providers, seawall repair and maintenance issues, the maine state ferry service and the proposed lobster guage increase.
If elected I will need constituents to attend hearings and testify to encourage committee support for bills that benefit their communities. Remaining accessible and approachable is important to build meaningful relationships and trust.
Explore ways municipalities can acquire properties by offering incentives similar to those offered by non profit land trusts.
Once acquired, enabling the municipalities to devote the property for affordable year round housing sales which retains the local tax base without shifting the tax burden onto other taxpayers.
I am an Independent and will represent the districts interests over either parties interests.
