By continuing to solicit feedback on legislation, assisting them with testifying on bills, inviting them to join me in local volunteer opportunities, and through continued robust constituent services.
The Bangor delegation has continually advocated for increased spending from the state for northern Maine. We worked to secure funding for low barrier shelters, we passed a bill to fund rural recovery houses for families that drew down 10 times the bill amount in federal funding and we will continue to advocate for more funding for general assistance. I’d like to also see what we can do in concert with Bangor and Penobscot County officials to attract affordable housing developers like Avesta to Bangor.
I’m a fierce advocate for children in foster care, for working Mainers and for the environment.
