Mental health, addiction and recovery along with homelessness are top priorities I see facing every family across Maine. We need more support centers and crisis workers in all of our communities to assist in helping those in need and their families on their path to health.
I ask the community members of district 12 to talk to friends and family about the importance of voting in this election. So much is at stake for woman and body autonomy/ right to choose, housing insecurities, rising energy costs, mental health, and the environment. These are issues which all generations face but it is the newest voters who need to have guidance as to why their votes matter for the future they will inhabit.
This session,
we focused on addressing the lack of housing, improving
the affordability of available housing and supporting
emergency shelters for our unhoused neighbors. To start,
we bolstered affordable rental and ownership options
by boosting the production of housing across the state.
We created robust protections and support for mobile
home park residents facing predatory price increases and
renters facing eviction or retaliation. We also worked to help
keep Mainers in their homes, including students and their
families who are on the verge of becoming unhoused. I will continue to push for more
