As the incumbent Senate District 13 Senator, I continue to work hard in Augusta to propose and support legislation impacting the issues I campaign on--and I hope to continue that work. Some of the greatest challenges facing Maine and my district specifically: accessible and affordable health insurance and healthcare services; local economies and housing, including better jobs that pay living wages and affordable housing, childcare, and utilities; bold climate action to preserve a future for our communities without taking away people’s livelihoods; supporting heritage industries and the working waterfront; and proposing and enacting policies and solutions that make real change now and are sustainable for generations to come.
I lead by example. I have always been an active and engaged member of my community and encouraged those around me to do the same.

As a senator, I show up for our communities across the district and share opportunities with constituents to do the same. I am easily reachable to make sure dialogue and accessibility is a visible and honored part of our local civic engagement--I hold regular constituent hours and my phone and email are readily available for anyone in the district to contact me directly.
I know that affordable housing impacts everything from families to the local workforce–if people can’t live nearby, they can’t work here.

In the 131st legislature, my bill to expand workforce housing in rural Maine passed in the first session. I also proposed legislation to create affordable housing through cooperative and employee-owned businesses. I will continue to work with stakeholders to find solutions that work for people and families in my district.

I strongly support legislation to make it more accessible for people to age in place. I would also prioritize legislation to help fixed-income and low-income families afford utilities and make improvements to unsafe housing conditions.
As an educator, parent, and lifelong resident of Lincoln County, I understand the struggles of working people and families. I am running for re-election to continue the work I started in my first term. I was part of positive movements to address issues important to our district, like housing, climate resiliency, and affordable healthcare. I want to see that work continue and have the experience and relationships from my first term in office to pick it up right where we left off.
