Housing and work force shortages. Those coupled with a fractured mental health system makes it challenging to assure all Mainers get the basic services they need and that Maine can thrive with a strong economy.
Communication. I regularly reach out to constituents by way of social media, regular electronic newsletters and town hall meetings when able. Assuring that folks are registered to vote, communication about and with municipal officials to find solutions and maintaining connections with OOB business community are all ways to encourage civic engagement. Additionally getting young people involved at earlier ages is important so that youth can begin to understand the importance of being involved in their community. To that end, I present civics to middle school students every fall.
Continue to work with legislative color assure that affordable housing remains a legislative priority. Exploring policies that will help keep older Mainers in their homes, with a specific focus on rent stabilization particularly for 55+ on fixed incomes living in manufactured housing.
As a life long advocate for children and social worker, I have spent my entire career advocating for social and environmental justice. My number one priority has been children’s mental and behavioral health. I am dedicated to continuing to do all I can to have a positive impact on the lives of others and affect positive systemic change.
