1. Economic Growth and Business Climate: I believe in a thriving, diverse economy that benefits everyone and will actively engage with business owners, remove roadblocks, and foster economic development in agriculture, forest products, fishing, and tourism. 2. Efficient and Responsive Government: It's time for a government that works for you. I will streamline county operations, making them more efficient, effective, and responsive to your needs. I will prioritize declining budgets and staff levels to ensure responsible governance." 3. Prudent Fiscal Management: Opposing unnecessary projects, I will ensure responsible use of taxpayer dollars. Let's explore cost-effective alternatives, avoid extravagant spending, and prioritize projects.
Tillamook County is a very special place that I love to call my home. I believe we are at a crossroads. Local, State and Federal agencies are threatening our way of life through their power to regulate the use of our private property, control our lives and over regulate our businesses. Tillamook County government is at the center of this challenge and there must be no doubt of their focus and support for us. I believe the County needs a fresh view; a view that listens to county residents, and has the knowledge, capability and desire to advocate for us. This is why I am running for County Commissioner. I have the experience to successfully advocate public and business interests to state and federal interests.
Affordable housing starts with the county eliminating roadblocks on the public, builders and the business community. Government subsidies are unsustainable and only mask the problem.

Ending our housing shortage - Build on the work I have done through the creation of the County Housing Commission to create a developer friendly environment through the provision of political and financial support to housing developers for both workforce and affordable housing.

Addressing Homelessness and Addiction - build on recent success obtaining over $3 million in grant funding to distribute to local service providers through the Homeless Action and OUR Tillamook Opioid Response Networks, both of which I helped to create.

Utilizing tax dollars wisely - Build on the work I have started with the county treasurer and department heads to modernize county programs with updated technology, more cost-efficient services and workflows.
As a nonprofit leader and County Commissioner I have dedicated my life to making our community better. With a nearly 30-year career in nonprofit management I developed skills in managing projects, managing budgets and managing people. In addition, I have developed strong skills in community collaboration and leadership. All of these skills have been needed in my first term of office.

Over the past four years we've navigated a lot as a county. Looking ahead, we still face big, systemic challenges. Successful leadership will require an understanding of what is driving the issues and what tools we can use as a county to address them. Experience matters, which is why I am the right choice in this election.

Housing is a signature issue for me. I have been a leader in housing efforts since 2015 in the County. During this time there have been 106 units of affordable housing and 25 units of workforce housing added. There are 45 more units under construction and 100 in the development pipeline. Success has come from making connections, creating a developer friendly environment, hiring county staff to support developers, providing local financial incentives, advocating at the state level for changes to the zoning requirements, and for financial incentives that will work in small rural counties. I look forward to continuing this work while also advocating for additional resources for much needed infrastructure development across the county.

Infrastructure modernization, drugs and homelessness & housing. In effort to create a platform for new housing, upgrades and improvements to sewer, water, roadways etc. Streamline the process for developers to get Co. approval in planning, permits etc., improve timelines and communications. Work within community support groups to get people the help they need whether it be drug counseling and rehab, get help to those that have mental issues that may need assisted or controlled living environment. Use the law to make it more difficult for people that are gaming the system and preying on the disadvantaged for ill gotten gain, jail.
Having been a community organizer and working behind the scenes, I've seen how politicians don't always do what they say. I bring an outsiders vision to the table, without the collective group think that many politicians have. I'm just a regular guy that wants to good for the betterment of the county and its citizens.
From an outsiders view point, I would look into streamlining the approval processes between contractors, developers and the planning dept. Improve communication by giving estimation of times for expectancy of approvals.
