Housing, homelessness, public safety, fentanyl crisis, traffic calming, combating climate change, decarbonization, and maintaining vital city services while facing significant budget shortfalls are major challenges facing the City of Eugene.

Bottom line: we need housing at all income levels.

Promoting walkable neighborhoods and preserving our wooded, natural areas, we must build up -- not out -- along transportation lines.

Eugene needs a suite of emergency housing solutions: transitional housing, co-op, and mixed-use housing options promoting a truly mixed economy. I remain enthusiastically supportive of incentives for increasing our housing stock, partnering with local nonprofits, and ensuring that robust community benefits are met.
I have a record of getting results for Eugene. From restoring Greenhill Humane Society's funding, banning fireworks, preventing the closure of a local fire station, and making historic housing investments, I take action in the interest of the public good. My relationships and support of trusted elected officials at all levels of government are indicative of my collaboration and leadership. I am endorsed by first responders, local educators, carpenters, and elected officials such as Congresswoman Val Hoyle; Congressman Peter DeFazio; Governor Barbara Roberts; Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum; Rep. Paul Holvey; Mayors Lucy Vinis & Kitty Piercy; and my Eugene City Council colleagues Randy Groves, Lyndsie Leech, Jenifer Yeh, and Alan Zelenka.
I share my personal cell phone publicly as 541-515-3819 is published on my business cards, website, social media channels, and municipal voters' pamphlet statement. I share it here as well to ensure I am accessible and accountable to each and every constituent. Please call or text any time: 541-515-3819. Thank you.

Eugene lacks sufficient affordable housing. This has resulted in an ever-growing number of individuals and families being burdened by housing costs. I will protect existing affordable housing units from gentrification and minimize additional costs the City imposes on new affordable housing construction. I will not give tax breaks to developers or corporations unless there is a direct positive return on that investment that will benefit Eugene residents. Climate chaos is an overarching issue for us all. While I support increased regulation and incentives to decrease carbon emissions I believe the more important task for the City is to develop mitigation plans to help local residents and businesses cope with extreme weather events.
I have lived in the ward for more than 40 years and have longstanding experience in community organizing, as well as more than 25 years running my own business. Tenacity, common sense and experience as one of the first women construction contractors in the state, give me the drive, experience and skills to work with others to identify and accomplish community goals. I have a proven track record of leadership at the neighborhood level in Eugene such as helping to preserve a mature forest and wetlands area from development. It is now part of the city parks system.
We need results-based assessments to better measure the effectiveness of public services. The City’s budget process has become less and less transparent over time. I will advocate for better access to important financial data and ultimately for an independent auditor to identify any waste, fraud, or inefficiencies. This will help ensure that public funds are used responsibly.
