Counties provide a wide range of important public services. To qualify, a candidate must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter, a resident of the district for at least 1 year prior to the election, and at least 18 years of age.Term: 4 years. Establishing a state-of-the-art Mixed Waste Processing Facility to cut carbon emissions.
Obtaining additional state and federal aid for housing, behavioral health, public safety, and wildfire recovery.
Having lived in the district for 37 years and a family raised here, I understand my constituents' needs. As a volunteer, organizer, advocate, and nonprofit professional, I've served the community tirelessly. I bring values, strategy, compassion, and dedication to my work. Appointed by the Governor to the Opioid Settlement Board, I've chaired the County Commissioners twice and currently serve as Chair. Effective leadership demands courage, focus, and accountability—I'm committed to asking tough questions, upholding due process, and maintaining transparency.
Our key opportunity lies in enhancing critical infrastructure like water, broadband, and essential services—a foundation for scalable progress with significant impact. Addressing policy hurdles, such as waiving permit fees in fire-affected areas and advocating for ADU construction in rural zones, is vital. Leveraging relationships with state, local, and union partners is crucial to tackle labor shortages and ensure a skilled, fairly compensated workforce meets demands.

Homeless population, lack of housing and skilled workforce, lack of transparency in county government.
I have been working in the community as a housing provider, and community responder for over a decade. I help neighborhoods by transforming non-habitable houses into qualified homes for FHA financing. I also teach people how to do this work. I also work with my fellow Rotarians in providing help to the homeless and marginalized youth in the area.
I have seen the lack of transparency of the county government who waste millions of dollars on projects that the people don't know about. I will put a stop to this, and get qualified people into staff positions of power. As as successful business owner I know how to create equitable contracts.
I am a leader. I am a business owner. As such I know the importance of creating priorities and sticking to them. Therefore when a special interest group promotes their agenda, if it's not on our county's business plan it's not going to get the time nor money resources that the lobbyist is demanding. As a business owner I know how to say "no" to people wanting my time and money. I also know how to use my time and money to make the most of it. I will colaborate with the community, the workers, and the officials to create our priorities as Lane County Commissioners.
Get building permits to be standardized, and the county staff trained on getting applicants the correct information regarding the permits. Get the permit cost down so that more property owners and developers will participate in creating more housing in the county.
