As an experienced professional engineer I consider myself a problem solver. Wherever problems arise in Lincoln County I intend to promote non-polarizing solutions. My highest priority will be to enhance County Board cooperation in an unbiased fashion using a common sense approach with sound engineering practices.
Local residents seem quite concerned about roads and the upkeep and maintenance of these roads. Thus another one of my priorities will be operations of the Lincoln County Highway Department and especially how they maintain local roads. A serious issue with Lincoln County’s Highway Department is the condition of the Tomahawk storage building condition and the costs for building rehabilitation or replacement. My role in this issue will be to consider solutions that cost effectively resolve this building renovation concern.
The next major issue I will focus on is the existing landfill and concern about its expansion and continued use into the future.
Important services are provided to residents through the Lincoln County Health Department and these services should continue.
Please explain why.
Landfill Management, Landfill is filling up and needs expansion, relocation or abandonment which may have substantial financial consequences for residents.
Forestry Management, Renewable county forest practices need to ensure that these resources provide income and recreational services as well as conservation to residents well into the future.
Drinking Water Management, Protecting the county’s aquifers, rivers and lakes will help preserve drinking water for future generations. Without these protections, housing, recreation, and business development will become increasingly more expensive.
Roadway maintenance is the most important local infrastructure item in Lincoln County and any federal funding should be shared with local townships following closely the quantity of local roads each Township has to maintain.
Using county board committee webpages to solicit written opinions from residents on issues when residents are unable to attend committee meetings. And also using these webpages to communicate alternatives that the committee may be considering to residents in written form so they can be reviewed when residents cannot attend meetings.
Contact pages for county board members can be used to solicit written input from residents and also provide an avenue for board members to communicate opinions on issues to their district residents.
