I’m running to keep the Treasurer’s office a model of fiscal responsibility, transparency, and service. My modernization project — updating software, policies, and procedures — remains underway to deliver a more efficient, transparent interface for county residents. I hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming, have completed professional association training, and collaborate with elected officials statewide to find efficiencies. With 23 years in the Treasurer’s Office, from front-counter registrations and property taxes to accounting, and eight years as County Treasurer, I’m committed to finishing this work.
My first priority is completing the modernization project—upgrading software, policies, and procedures—to deliver the transparency residents expect in our financial information. Second, I will expand convenient, secure ways for taxpayers to do business with our office, including additional payment options and enhanced online services now permitted by statutory updates. Third, I will continue to exceed expectations in customer service, keeping processes efficient, accessible, and respectful for every resident.
The Albany County Treasurer’s biggest challenge will be getting ready for possible drops in tax revenue while still protecting the essential services people rely on. A few ways to help manage this include: Improving revenue predictions: checking the numbers more often and using up‑to‑date information to spot trends early. Being open and communicative: keeping residents and local partners informed about the county’s financial situation, the choices ahead, and any planned actions so everyone understands what’s happening and why.
Many people don't realize how much the Treasurer's office does behind the scenes. I want the public to better understand how county funds are collected, tracked, deposited, and distributed --and how these processes protect taxpayer dollars and support essential services like roads, schools, and emergency response. To help educate residents, I would like to continue to provide town hall meetings with my colleagues in addition to informative videos or other materials provided on the county website. I feel when people understand how their tax dollars are managed, it builds confidence in local government and encourages civic engagement.

Residents should feel comfortable asking questions and confident they will receive clear guidance, whether they are paying taxes or registering a vehicle. 3. Increasing transparency and accessibility. I want the public to better understand how the Treasurer’s Office functions and how county funds flow through the system.
The biggest challenge facing the County Treasurer’s office is maintaining accurate, real-time fiscal oversight while adapting to evolving economic conditions and technological demands. Managing public funds across multiple departments requires seamless organization and precise tracking to prevent errors or inefficiencies.I plan to address this by drawing directly on my accounting degree and 15 years of financial management experience to review and modernize our current accounting workflows. By implementing robust digital checks and balances, optimizing our financial software systems, and fostering a culture of meticulous detail and open communication, I will ensure Albany County's public funds are flawlessly managed.
Many residents only interact with the Treasurer’s office when paying taxes or registering vehicles, but it plays a crucial role in managing the county’s investments and funding vital public services. I want the public to clearly understand how their tax dollars are safeguarded, invested, and distributed back into Albany County.
To educate the community, I will implement user-friendly, digital 'Financial Snapshots' on our county website breaking down complex budgets into clear, visual charts. I also plan to increase community outreach through proactive local media updates, ensuring that financial data is not just public, but genuinely accessible and easy for every resident to understand.
