Occupation
Currently/in the last 12 years Jackson Township Trustee, Brown County, IN as well as a Substitute Teacher for Brown County, IN School System
I don't know how unique I am, but I care about the citizens who preside in Jackson Twp. here in Brown Co., IN. Not just to help in paying bills when the weather keeps us from working to make a living, but to have someone who does not charge to listen to our hurts and needs. I try to be there not only to help with utility bills or housing payments, when needed through rough times personally or problem weather results, but to give them the knowledge of how to go forward after problem times. Even if it is personal or family problems.
Please refer to the above answer to needs, but I am also worried about the future of Townships, because I really don't believe the county offices really care about those needs when it comes to financing their help with those needs. And the municipal counties/cities want to remove all townships so they can be in charge of the citizens of those townships and have their monies for fancier needs of the metro areas.
We all need to learn to live within our means, like we were raised. I do believe the townships in many counties needs to be merged, because they are no longer farmlands and they are now sub-divisions. But our county is doing good with having 4 townships, helping those who are in need, especially since we do not get any funding for the DNR lands, state parks, and federal forests, which puts our yearly budget much lower than many other townships.
I will continue on to care about our citizens of Jackson Twp., Brown County, IN as I have done for the past 12 years.
This will be my last term though, but I will continue to lobby and fight to keep the rural townships alive, so their citizens will not be forgotten, and be there for future Township Trustee's when they need me.
I am a very open person, and as all Trustee's should be practicing, I do not make any major decisions for Twp. Assistance and our Vol. Fire Departments without the board's knowledge. The Advisory Board has knowledge of all that I do, and I ask for their approval and ideas at all times.
I'm sorry there are those Twp Trustee's, like we have recently viewed in our neighboring Counties, that cannot do their jobs as they should. But I also feel the IN. SBOA, needs to really be more attentive when a Trustee goes through 2 to 3 SBOA Audits all the while using monies from their township funds for their own personal needs and vacations.
I'm sorry, but this has upset me, when our County does not have enough funds for our own citizens or Co. needs.
