First, I will encourage resident participation in the design of the school property, now Yountville Commons. Your input is invaluable in building community and shaping our community's future.

Second, I will continue to make sensible financial decisions to maintain our exceptional town services and preserve our strong finances, especially as we plan and design our new community investment, Yountville Commons.

Third, I will continue working with the Council and Town staff to promote a welcoming and open relationship with Veterans Home members, staff, and CALVET.

Yountville is a resilient community with caring residents and business owners. I am honored to represent you on the Town Council and would appreciate your support for another four-year term. In 2020,

I ran to "Build Community" and promote cooperation and collaboration. I proudly serve with a respectful Council that constantly strives to listen and learn so that Town Council decisions align with our shared values. Public servants must always promote public discourse and civic engagement.

Having lived in Yountville for 35 years and served two Council terms from 1997 to 2005, I am deeply committed to our community. Please get in touch with me at 707-363-6099 or ericeknight@sbcglobal.net.

I respectfully ask for your vote and look forward to serving you again. Thank you.

1) Enhancing and building community. We must be intentional about creating opportunities to gather together and celebrate being neighbors. We have added more options this past year with Wednesday Night BBQs, Emergency Preparedness workshops, and Yountville Night Out. Coming together makes us safer and happier and cements our affection for the place we live. 2). Being proactive with the opportunities at Yountville Commons. The town is in a unique position to determine the uses and amenities of that site and residents get to determine what goes on our own land. I believe our community is up for the challenge. My familiarity with the history and the progression of our community gives me stabilizing perspective in that challenge. 3) Continue to provide an atmosphere of cooperation and collaboration on the council and within the community. Dialogue and discussion are necessary components to decision making. I have always held that we make better decisions by listening to many voices
I have been a resident of Yountville for over 40 years and I have been involved in the town politics for about 38 years. I was on the Zoning and Design Review Board for 5 years (3 as Chair) just before I was elected to the council in 1988. I served one term and returned to my family and business responsibilities. I kept active organizing neighbors, and participating in forums and workshops, as well as petitioning the council for specific actions. I believe in participatory local government and seek to encourage and enhance community engagement. I ran for mayor in 2022, and though I was not successful, I was appointed by a unanimous decision to fill a 2-year open seat. I have served as a council member for the last two years and am running to keep my seat in this election. Turns out, I enjoy local government and have learned so much and would like to put this knowledge and experience to work for the benefit of my community. My educational and work background is eclectic: I have my bachelors degree from UC Berkeley in Criminology and also hold an Early Childhood Development credential from the State. I have been and ESL teacher at the county level, a state preschool teacher, a service representative for the phone company, a waitress, a business owner, an esthetician, and an international trainer for a German skin care company. The common theme of this experience is service, imparting knowledge, and a dedication to fulfilling people’s needs. I feel these are the same qualities needed to be an effective public servant.

I am a resident of Yountville since October 1991. I am a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1977-81. I was the Public Works Director with The Town of Yountville starting on October 29, 2014. I retired from the Town Of Yountville on July 30,2021. I also served as an appointed Town Council member in 2021. In the early 2000’s I served as a Town Council appointed member to the the Active Transportation Advisory Committee. I have served as a President and member of Yountville Kiwanis , and volunteer with other organizations , both in the town and Napa County . I earned a A.S Degree at Napa Valley Community College. I earned a B.S degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. I also earned an M.B.A. degree from Sacramento State University. Yountville has been my home for more than 30 years. It is the town where I met and married my wife Kathy. In those years I have developed many relationships both from my work in the public sector, and also those on the business, and social side as well. All of those help me understand how to honor our rich history and past ,while also realizing how important planning for our future is as well. I think it is important that our Council provide oversight for all of our resources and my experience and knowledge give me a unique position to ask difficult questions and make sure our resources are used to the benefit of the majority of our residents . I humbly ask for your vote On November 5. Thank you .
