To fight to stop the attack our judicial system and the questioning of court integrity and maintain confidence in the fair access to justice for all. In addition, it is imperative to implement the rapidly changing technology available to the Trial Court as well as the continuously changing court rules and procedures in criminal and civil cases.
To be a voice for the Superior Court and all courts within the Commonwealth pertaining to the aforementioned challenges.
Throughout my tenure in office, I have transformed the clerk's office in terms of diversity and inclusion. The office looks far different than it did in 2001 when I was first elected. I want to oversee the high level of professionalism I have instilled in this department and continue to deliver quality service and maintain our position as one of the most efficient courts in the Commonwealth.
My experience as the Clerk of Courts, my legal training as an attorney and my effective management skills set me apart from the other candidates in this election.
97% of all litigants in the Superior Court are represented by counsel. You cannot insert yourself into a case directly or indirectly with the parties no matter how much you may want to. Thus, all interaction is done on a high level with skilled attorneys.
Having prosecuted cases, represented defendants and litigated in civil cases as a practicing attorney allows me to have the ability to be the most effective clerk possible. It also allows me to work with the justices of the court on a highly professional level.
Changes happen almost weekly in the court system. Updated rules of court, changes in the law and decisions by The Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court all require change in our operations. Updates in technology and communication are also a common.
I am an active member the Trial Court's Bargaining Committee. In that capacity I have been part of creating a fairer and more competitive salary and benefit package. I am deeply involved in the implementation of the Segal Study that will dramatically alter the framework of the clerk's offices to provide more opportunity for professional advancement.
