As a lifelong resident, small business owner, and University of Missouri graduate, I embody hard work, integrity, and personal responsibility. With degrees in finance and real estate, and over 20 years in healthcare revenue operations, I understand managing budgets and taxes.
I am dedicated to representing Kansas City and Grandview, ensuring our voices are heard. My philosophy focuses on providing a "hand up" versus a "hand out," empowering our community. Kansas City must demand more from our leaders in Jefferson City for meaningful economic and cultural growth.
Public Safety: Having experienced crime firsthand, I will advocate for stronger policing and laws that enable the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney to hold offenders accountable.
Economic Growth & Tax Reform: I am committed to reducing regulations and ensuring fair taxation. Addressing Jackson County personal property taxes is crucial for families and businesses.
My top priority for legislative action in 2025 is enhancing public safety by strengthening law enforcement and reducing crime. Here’s how I plan to address this priority:
Strengthening Law Enforcement: I will advocate for increased funding for police departments to ensure they have the necessary resources, training, and equipment to effectively serve our communities. Additionally, promoting community policing will help build trust between law enforcement and residents.
Tougher Penalties for Crime: I support implementing stricter penalties for violent and property crimes to deter criminal activities. This includes advocating for bail reforms that keep dangerous criminals off the streets while awaiting trial.
Economic Stability and Job Creation: By implementing tax incentives and reducing regulatory burdens, we can encourage job growth. Investing in vocational training and youth employment programs will address economic desperation, helping to prevent crime.

The areas of public policy I am personally passionate about include health care, reproductive health care, gun violence prevention, equal rights for all, and protecting working families. As an ICU RN, I cared for the most vulnerable patients in the hospital. Working in a trauma center, I saw firsthand the impact gun violence has on victims and their families. I took care of many patients who were victims of gun violence and we couldn’t save them all. Too many times I comforted family members who lost their loved ones due to gun violence. I also cared for patients who could not afford their prescription medication and instead ended up in the ICU, missing work and getting further behind financially. These experiences remain with me every day. As State Representative I have sponsored & passed bills to increase access to health care & remove unnecessary boundaries. Missouri is moving backwards in many ways. We must do better to ensure equal rights for all & protect working families.
My top priority is health care including reproductive health care and gun violence prevention. As a member of the minority party, I have sponsored several health care bills that have been signed into law. This year I worked on a women’s health omnibus bill which included annual supply of birth control and updating provisions with expedited partner therapy. I also sponsored a bill protecting telehealth services. Both of these bills passed out of the House but did not make it across the finish line. On day one in the Senate I will be able to pick up where we left off. I have also sponsored several common sense gun bills including red flag laws, safe secure storage of firearms, Donna’s Law, and a bill amending the constitution to allow local counties and municipalities to adopt gun safety ordinances. I am committed to continue to work on these bills in the Senate. I have relationships on both sides of the aisle and in both chambers which puts me in a great position to create change.
