Idaho House of Representatives members serve a 2-year term and are responsible for translating the public will into public policy for the state, levying taxes, appropriating public funds, and overseeing the administration of state agencies. These responsibilities are carried out through the legislative process — laws passed by elected representatives of the people, legislators.

I want to continue serving the people of District 26 with common sense, courage, and passion for the issues that really matter. I’m committed to working towards clear and predictable water policy, continuing to ensure that every Idaho kid can get access to a great education, investing in our roads and bridges, and pushing back on the Idaho Legislature’s unwelcome intrusions into the private lives of Idahoans.
As a lifelong Idahoan born and raised, I’m grateful to be giving back to the state I love. I spent 8 years serving my community on our local Urban Renewal Board, City Council, and 3 years as Mayor of Bellevue. For the last three years, I’ve had the honor of serving the people of District 26 in the Idaho House of Representatives, where I have served on the Resources & Conservation, Revenue & Taxation, Transportation & Defense, and Ways & Means committees.
The most significant challenge we’re facing this coming session is the protection of Idaho’s public schools. Powerful, wealthy, out-of-state interests are pushing to siphon public tax dollars into private and religious schools, in direct violation of Idaho’s Constitution. Taking money out of public education will have huge repercussions in rural districts like ours and further the divide in educational outcomes between rural and urban students. I support educational choice, but Idaho taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to subsidize the tuition of private school students with zero oversight as to how their tax dollars are spent.
Absolutely, yes. The Republican supermajority at the Idaho Legislature passed some of the most extreme abortion laws in the nation. The consequences have been severe. We’ve seen an alarming uptick of women who have had to be life-flighted out of the state to receive care for pregnancy complications, and over 22% of our OBGYNs leave the state or retire early. We cannot continue down this path.
I decided to serve my community to find ways to improve the lives of Idahoans, and I see areas where our state government can do just that. I’m here to find solutions to the problems that impact us all: poor road conditions, rising property taxes, underfunded schools, and the costs associated with solving (and ignoring) those issues. There are effective ways to tackle our challenges, and they don’t involve partisanship or political theater. I will continue to work with all members of the legislature, industry, concerned citizens, and the executive branch to bring cost-effective solutions; that’s my promise.
