Lance Clow for Idaho
I hope to continue to provide leadership as a Committee Chairman and seasoned member of the legislature. My ability to analyze and evaluate legislation is well recognized as a strong asset. I believe in the Free Enterprise, with reasonable regulations that provide for maximum employment opportunities.
Prior to running for this office, I was elected to five four-year terms to the Twin Falls City Council, of which I served six years as Mayor. My professional background as a Banker and Financial Advisor, plus my education in economics provides me the tools to evaluate the impacts of budgetary changes and taxes.
Agriculture and its economic contributions to the State of Idaho are important and need to be protected. Water and the management of this most important resource is critical to our agriculture and economic growth.
We need to continue to focus our attention on our Public Schools and recognize important financial investments and outcomes. The role of private schools has grown significantly and has to be considered in our long-term future plans.
Yes, we need to evaluate how our laws may create adverse impacts on our physicians, while protecting the life of the unborn.
I have remained accessible and engaged in the community. I never set out to run for office, but my work with many community organizations led to the encouragement to run for City Council and eventually the State Legislature. My reputation as a solution orientated leader has been built upon my efforts to be focused on realistic solutions.

I strongly support restoring local option, the right of women to choose, and the rights of those who live differently. It is neither the right nor the duty of the Idaho Legislature to choose how the citizens of our state live. It's time to stop fighting libraries and focus on real-world solutions, such as sensible, equitable tax reform with the full funding of education in mind, as the Idaho Constitution requires. Let's do it right the first time and stop the constant hat-in-hand supplemental levies.
I have a wide range of skills and experiences. I am a lead field service technician for a major medical technology company. Previously I worked in book publishing, credit card processing and insurance. I ran for Idaho State Treasurer in 2014, and currently serve as a precinct captain and party legislative district chair. As an alumnus of Twin Falls High School, College of Southern Idaho and Idaho State University, I have deep Idaho roots.
Idaho is growing, and that's a good thing. Our state and local governments need to adapt accordingly. We need to embrace policies which encourage growth. But job-creating industries are increasingly wary of this state's antiquated social and fiscal policies, which Idaho thus far refuses to change. We need to embrace diversity, and free our cities and counties of the onerous restrictions recently imposed by the Idaho Legislature. Whether it be potatoes, sugar beets or semiconductors, Idaho business can only benefit from an inclusive social policy and intelligent tax structure. We currently have neither. If we continue down this path, other places will offer better to our kids and others. An economic crash here would be the logical outcome.
Not only would I support it, I would sponsor it. The State of Idaho has no business interfering in such intensely personal matters.
Twin Falls deserves a real choice.
