Idaho House of Representatives members serve a 2-year term and are responsible for translating the public will into public policy for the state, levying taxes, appropriating public funds, and overseeing the administration of state agencies. These responsibilities are carried out through the legislative process — laws passed by elected representatives of the people, legislators.

Give the people of North Idaho their voice back. I’ll explain the bills being put forth and their likely effects. I'll listen and try to understand every constituent’s perspective regardless of whether they vote for me.
At a bare minimum, I hope to hold my fellow lawmakers accountable and give them the courage to serve their constituents.
I’ll put every effort behind an issue if it meets three criteria. Local focus – Does it affect the quality of life for our local communities? Freedom – Does it diminish or enhance our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness? An Economy that Works for All of Us – Does it invigorate our family-owned business and local industries ... reward working families and individuals?
Consulting with organizations on their toughest issues taught me about getting divided groups to agree to work together to find common ground. Game design taught me to think about how things work together and long- and short-term effects. Working as a waitress taught me about service and hospitality. Working around the world with people from all walks of life taught me that despite our differences, we can come together as neighbors and work for common good. Working as the sole female executive taught me that looking people of power in the eye and challenging them to do the right thing, can be effective ... sometimes. Engaging in my community taught me that every person has something valuable to say and contribute.
There are so many. Yet, most are symptoms of a larger issue. The center of gravity of our problems is that we've put politics before principles and common sense. Our elected officials have given our power over to outside interests. We are no longer being represented.
As the state has decreased its share of funding public sector, the burden on local taxpayers has increased. In rural areas, this means a much smaller group of people has to fund a bigger portion to keep schools open and roads navigable, etc. It's like a small business getting employee insurance vs. a large company. You pay more for less.
Our healthcare is in trouble and we cannot get legislators to even discuss it. We need representation again.
Absolutely. Nobody wins in this environment. The abortion ban has frightened many doctors out of our state. Criminalizing doctors and mothers is not the answer. Women having miscarriages can’t get immediate help. Without help they can go into sepsis – which risks death.
Everyone is affected, not just pregnant women. We cannot attract young people to work here. Women with endometriosis have to go out of state. Post-menopausal woman can’t even get help without driving an hour.
No wants abortion. These laws do not reduce abortions. There are ways to impact abortion numbers that are proven. Illegality is not one of them. This is not about reducing abortions. It's about government control.
