At this time, neighborhood stability and cohesion faces threat posed by proposed zoning changes affecting our strong sense of "Community", including proposal to allow NON-OWNER OCCUPIED Accessory Dwelling Units, meaning, non-residents will be allowed to buy single family homes, create an extra unit, for profit, but not be a "neighbor." Even more "flippers' will buy sf homes.

I am an attorney in Brookline specializing in construction and real estate disputes. I represent clients before the Brookline ZBA as well. I serve on the Boards of Temple Emeth, Camp Yavneh and N.E. chapter of American Jewish Committee. I have served several terms on Town Meeting.
I regularly use the SBNA list serve to communicate about events and issues affecting our Precinct or the Town as a whole about which our precinct may be interested. I have enjoyed working with a terrific Pct 16 Town Meeting delegation over the years on issues of development in Hancock Village and in the surrounding area that affect traffic or have other impacts on our neighborhood. I often connect people with the correct Town department and advocate for them when issues come up concerning the streets, sidewalks Town services, unwanted graffiti or posters on public resources, etc I have an excellent relationship with our representatives to Beacon Hill, which frequently inures to the benefit of the neighborhood.

Born and raised in Brookline, attending Baker & BHS, class of 79. Currently live on Baker Circle in South Brookline.
Improve roadway safety for all especially our children. Too often we see accidents around SB, which speed of vehicles is a main cause. Currently working on slowing speeds down and a safe route to our schools, whether it is to Baker or BHS. Also was part of a team which pasted Tree Protection during events of constructing additions or new homes to help preserve our tree canopy in Town to combat climate change.

My wife and I moved to Brookline over 30 years ago and our 2 children graduated from Baker School and B.H.S. I am a graduate of Colby College, where I majored in Government. I went on to earn two masters degrees, as well as a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. I am a recently retired psychologist, and spent my working life in health care, first managing teams that provided care to adults with major mental illness, then as a health care administrator at a non-profit community health center in Boston, serving as COO and CEO. I am endorsed by Brookline for Everyone.
TMM's should bring an attitude of thoughtful inquiry to their work, to set aside preconceived notions they might have when facts and the consensus of their constituents lead in a different direction.  I am intellectually curious, and actually enjoy digging into the details of policy and budgets. I understand and respect the fact that others might have a better grasp of an issue and the only way to know this is to listen with care and respect. I owe the success I enjoyed in my career to my ability to critically evaluate data and other points of view before making decisions. I am committed to open dialogue with constituents, and am now at a point in my life where I have the time to do so, through neighborhood forums, SBNA, email, etc.

I have lived in Precinct 16 for more than a decade and in Brookline for 18 years, and have been an active member of the community throughout that time. I am a proud Baker and BHS parent, and I work in communications for a local university. I was a two-term Town Meeting Member before stepping away last year. I have participated in the political life of the town and our schools by volunteering to serve on the Jack Kirrane rink committee, being involved in the Special Education Parents Advisory Committee, and campaigning for candidates and overrides. I grew up in western Massachusetts, and am a graduate of Wesleyan University.
I have found that serving as a Town Meeting Member opens many opportunities for communication with neighbors, which is one of the reasons I am choosing to run again. I have engaged with folks in Precinct 16 through the South Brookline Neighborhood Association listserv, in person at school events, and through our Buy Nothing group, which has enabled me to exchange items and divert them from landfills while meeting neighbors I didn't know!

I believe my responsibility to my precinct is to listen to as many voices as possible, and to share as much information as I can about issues being considered at Town Meeting. While residents of my precinct may not agree with every one of my votes, I am always open to engaging in dialogue.

I have lived on Puddingstone Rd for the last 10 years. Technically retired, I work part time for the Town of Brookline at the Brookline Golf Course as well as a Warden for town elections. During the Winter I serve as a Varsity High School Basketball Official for both boys and girls as well as college official for Women's basketball. My wife is a Paraprofessional for Brookline Early Education Program at Temple Emeth. We have two daughters, one at Baker Elementary and another studying Neurobiology at Georgetown University after graduating from Brookline High School. Our ties to Brookline run deep in the relatively short amount of time we have lived here.
I am on the ballot to represent all constituents of Precinct 16. As one of 15 Town Meeting Members representing the 3000 residents in Precinct 16 I'd bring an open mind and an independent voice not tied to a single-focused endorsing group. Precinct 16 deserves a new, strong voice that can build bridges and cut through Town Meeting’s reputation as a divisive group that accomplishes little. I am not an issue focused candidate running to enforce my agenda but rather a civic minded person who has what is best for Brookline in mind. I want to do my part and hoping you can help me do that. I am available through all normal channels to discuss the business in front of Town Meeting and welcome any and all perspectives.
