I have worked in the office for almost 38 years. I have been a past-president of the County Treasurer's Assn and Vice-President. I have been a treasurer for a few Non-Profit Assns and have been placed in many leadership positions and statewide committees. I have many legislative proposals where 5 have been signed by governors. Despite have a smaller staff than counties smaller than us, I am proud in my office in how it communicates and serves the taxpayers and taxing districts. The County Pool has generated millions of dollars of additional revenue to the taxing districts. My experience has put me as a source of information and assistance to many treasurers over the years.
To continue to provide great customer service. To continue to improve the efficiency to deal with the increased volume placed upon us. To be accessible to the public as I have been in the past.
Continue to increase the knowledge and confidence for the office to assist the public and provide all the services that we preform for the taxing districts and county offices.
Having the lowest turnover in the courthouse does not create many job openings but the last retirement created the opportunity to hire a very qualified employee. Since most of the staff has worked for many years, I have been lucky for the people I have hired to replace the experienced people before them.
Most of emails come directly to me to respond to. I answer a lot of phone calls during our many busy times. I handle the more complicated transactions so the staff can focus on the volume we deal with. I have been available to the public in the office more days than other elected officials. But I have been criticized for not taking more time off so I will try harder to take more time off.
