The most important challenges for Owyhee County are the lack of human services available to the rural area. There are only about 11,000 people in this county. Many residents live in remote areas, and they are aging.
Currently, I substitute teach in Wilder and Homedale. Many of the students are from agriculture-oriented families. I too was raised on a cattle ranch and have lived on farms. I spent nearly 20 years as a newspaper reporter and have used those skills to write grants for programs like 'Meals-on-Wheels for Owyhee County. I have a B.A. degree from the University of Montana 1991. Plus, I continue my education whenever possible.
I plan to attend public meetings. I'll be posting updates on the web page whenever possible. Plus, I will make myself available for educational presentations at school and churches.
