Judge, Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas. 2022
I have practiced law for 28 years, and worked as a prosectutor, a judge, and a civilian atttorney. In private practice I have handed a variety of cases, including business disputes, personal injury cases, protective orders, bankruptcies and government contract issues. I proteced children as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem. I was appointed by the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas as receiver to unwind a complex local fraud and to seek compensation for the victims. Additionally, as a member of the Dayton Bar Association's Certifiied Grievance Committee, I was entrusted with upholding and preserving our highest profeessional standards, as well as resolving disputes between attorneys.
There will be an opening on the court with the retirement of Judge Jeff Welbaum, whose high professional standards I will uphold. The court of appeals has a vital role in reviewing decisions from lower courts and either affirming those decisions or reversing them if there was an error. That work requires a broad range of legal experience as well as the ability to read extensively from transcripts and other sources, as well as carefully apply prior case law and other precedents. My experience and long experience in both crimial law and civll law has equipped me for this role and I will work at it diligently.
