My dedication and mission to help with Maui's economic opportunity as I have done in the past 21 yrs since I've moved here from Oahu. Along with working on providing HOPE for Maui in the aftermath of the Lahaina Fires, by continuing on being active in the housing issues, along with helping to create higher paying jobs in the creative arts and technical field in the film industry as i've done. Working together to rebuild a better brighter future for our community. Helping to keep unification in our community, while focusing on small businesses, and maintaining our cultural traditions, and most of all, protecting our children from sex human trafficking, and protecting seniors from cyber scams and predators.
The biggest issue in my district is growing development without having another access road to exit South Maui in the event of another major fire or flooding.
One of the main economic opportunities that Maui can focus on is building the film industry. The Film Economy has brought in billions to the State of Hawaii. Since moving here in 2003, I've been active in teaching Actors, & Crew, employing hundreds of people in Maui to work during the Pandemic, and being a Realtor, I had created Film Studio Development Plans throughout the years, and updating this information, along with seeking investors. It's no secret, when Magnum PI was filming, that brought 1000's of tourist to the islands, and also creating higher paying jobs, and jobs period.
By bringing awareness to the public about the needs of Maui by holding fundraisers and public service announcements.

As a single mother of 4 I have an intimate understanding of the challenges facing Hawaii's working families: My priority is to advocate for the workers and people of Maui and to ensure their needs are put first.
Maui deserves a Representative who is working for the people, not for large corporations and lobbyists. I believe in campaign finance reform and will never take a penny from corporations or lobbyists. We must add to that a LIVING wage geared to inflation.
As your House Representative, Vice Chair of Human services and member of Consumer Protection and Health Committees I have voted to help Health care, Education, brought in new housing and over $50M to Kihei for much needed initiatives.
I am honored to be #WorkingForThePeople
Housing, Flooding, and Economic stability of small businesses and families are all significant issues. Under my tenure I have brought in $45M for 200 truly affordable workforce housing units which are already in use for Fire victims. I have brought in Millions for flood prevention and mitigation measures and pushed for rent control so small businesses are not overcharged post-fire. I am continuing to push for insurance regulation given the huge increases, including HB2189 I submitted last January to regulate insurance rate makers. This work needs to continue.
I support a tourism cap to maintain current jobs and to preserve our environment. This can be done with a reservation system for tourists (not locals). Additionally to diversify our economy we must invest more heavily in education and support small business recovery. My voting record speaks to my strong commitment to this and to funding education.
The State’s “Rainy Day Fund” is already at the highest level it has ever been at ($1.5 Billon). Since the fire, it has been a rainy day. We need to make sure we fund human service programs, and support families who are struggling right now: Now is the time to feed and house our working families and support small businesses. I have also proposed a task force to seek federal funding as a lot of $ are left on the table.
