Idaho Senate members serve a 2-year term and are responsible for translating the public will into public policy for the state, levying taxes, appropriating public funds, and overseeing the administration of state agencies. These responsibilities are carried out through the legislative process — laws passed by elected representatives of the people, legislators.

We’ve accomplished a lot the last couple sessions. However, we still have a lot to do to keep Idaho, Idaho!
I’d like to address the mental health of Idaho students regarding cell phone use and how cell phones affect the minds of our youth. Currently, I’m researching cell phone free schools. Other states have addressed this issue and I’m interested to see how we might accomplish this in Idaho. Also, I’m working on a bill that will require the State to review the tax exempt status of tax exempt entities.
Most importantly, I will continue to seek ways to keep our communities safe by supporting our first responders. Also, I will always find solutions to save Idahoans money by lowering taxes.
Public service through community involvement has always been important to me. It’s been an honor to serve in the Idaho State Senate representing District 21 in Meridian. I’ve definitely learned a lot. I was elected by my peers in the Idaho Senate Republican Caucus to serve on the Legislative Council. My committee appointments certainly have provided me important experience. Serving as Vice Chair on Senate State Affairs and serving on the Local Government and Taxation Committee have provided me invaluable experience that will help me better serve my constituents in District 21.
Before I was elected to the Senate, I was also elected twice to the Meridian City Council. While on Council, I served as Council President for 2 years.
I believe that it will be the challenges we face in Idaho regarding growth. Namely infrastructure, both hard and soft. Hard infrastructure regarding our roads, bridges, school facilities and water systems. Both domestic and agricultural. Soft infrastructure regarding our schools. It’s no secret that we really need good teachers to help develop our students.
With growth also comes challenges with our qualified work force and jobs. This is why I support Career Technical Education. CTE is one of the most important ways we can help prepare students for post-graduation. As we prepare our students with the skills they need to be successful, the better off we will be in Idaho.
Depends on the legislation and what the legislation says. The devil is always in the details. I recently received the endorsement from Idaho Choses Life. So, it’s no secret that I’m pro life. With that said, women’s health is critically important and we need to have continued discussions regarding this delicate and important topic.
It’s been an honor to serve my constituents in the Idaho State Senate. I still have to pinch myself to make sure that I’m not in a dream! Thank you so much for this opportunity to serve.
I will continue to be the most assessable legislator at the Capitol. God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason. Listening to my constituents has always been a high priority to me. As I knock doors throughout District 21, I hear time and time again that we need to keep Idaho, Idaho. We’re truly blessed to live in the greatest state in America. I ask for your vote again on May 21st.
