From Papaaloa on Hawaii Island, to Puunene on Maui, to Puhi on Kauai, to my hometown of Kaneohe–our family has called Hawaii’s Second Congressional District home for five generations. For me, serving in Congress is personal, and about making sure that the next generation can see a future for themselves in this place that we love. I bring the sense of urgency I have as a mother to Congress, to get things done and take care of our people and community like family. In almost two years since first being elected, I'm so proud of all we’ve accomplished together, but there’s still much to be done.
Across Hawaii I hear the same thing, it’s too expensive for everyday, working families to live and thrive here. Our keiki have become our greatest export because they can't see a future for themselves at home. Affordability is an urgent issue that we must address. That means building housing people can afford. Working to ensure access to healthcare and mental health services. Creating educational opportunities and good jobs. Reducing the cost of living on everything from food and utilities, to gas and prescription drugs. We need to invest in the future of Hawaii and our people starting today.
I want to ensure that all girls grow up with their fundamental rights to self-determination intact. In Congress, I have opposed all efforts by the Republican majority to further restrict women’s healthcare, including by limiting access to mifepristone. I cosponsored The Women’s Health Protection Act which would codify the right to abortion care and the Right to Contraception Act which prevents federal, state, and local government entities from restricting access to or contraceptives. Everyone should have access to the reproductive healthcare they need, without interference from politicians.
We must secure our elections and strengthen voting access across the country. Our democracy thrives when all people have an equal voice. We need to pass common sense legislation like the For the People Act and Freedom to Vote Act. Voter registration should be modernized with states having an automatic process and we also need to expand early voting and vote by mail. To increase participation election day should be a legal public holiday. This is more than good policy; it's about democratic integrity and ensuring our electoral system represents and serves every citizen fairly.

The qualification that is most important, yet quite often overlooked, is the willingness to put aside personal gain to selflessly do what is best for your country, state, & the citizens that you will represent; regardless of the personal hardships that come from making those efforts.
Aaron Toman has been frustrated with politics over the past decade. A back and forth of political power, with no positive change for himself or the people he knows. He finally realized that no one was going to magically appear to fix our political landscape, if he wanted to see change, he had to be the change!
1. The economy and the cost of living across the state
2. Government corruption and nepotism
3. The rising chances that our youth will be drafted to fight in WWIII
Aaron's 11 point platform has an actionable plan to address each of these issues & more!
1. Amending the Jones Act to exclude Hawaii will bring financial relief with lower prices on all goods shipped to Hawaii.
2. Removing Qualified Immunity will stop the government corruption and nepotism plaguing our state.
3. Repealing the Selective Service Act will stop our youth from fighting in wars that the US has no place being in.
While Aaron Toman believes that healthcare reform in general is something that needs to be urgently address, his actionable 11 point platform goes one level higher and focuses on the institution itself that will reform healthcare. Before it can reform healthcare, congress itself must be reformed!
Term limits, removal of qualified Immunity, territorial voting rights, reasonable salaries, and more is urgently needed. If you want to see actual healthcare reform in your lifetime, then you should support Aaron Toman's candidacy!
Aaron does not plan to advance any policies on this specifically.
Aaron Toman supports legislation like the "The Freedom to Vote Act" to improve and secure elections. While not perfect, it is a step in the right direction towards having elections that Americans can trust.
As for voting access, Aaron Toman's platform directly addresses voting access for American Citizens who are often overlooked. Aaron Toman will introduce a Constitutional Amendment to provide full voting rights for the citizens of all US Territories and their Congressional Representatives. Most Americans are unaware of this issue! For full details, visit: limitthepower.com/voting-rights
